Catch the ferry (which is free) to Staten Island and time your return for dusk and see Manhatten lit up in all it's glory. You get good views as well by taking the subway to New Jersey and catching a ferry back Hire bikes for Central Park. I thought the Movie and TV tour was good fun but mainly because the kids liked it.
That looks like a proper physical thing! Call me old fashioned but I'm getting fed up of looking for new releases by hot new bands only to discover they're just downloads. It's just not the same and I mainly still resist the urge! So. I'll be bying this one.
I've got two tickets spare for Mercury Rev on Thursday 19th at Edinburgh Queens Hall. They're playing Desserters Songs in its entirety. They cost me 23.70 each (including fees etc), so 45 for both?
Josh T. Pearson - Last Of The Country Gentlemen...that'll be album of the year sorted then. Stark, intense, scary and beautiful. Nearly made me crash my car today.
I thought the new songs were great. I saw them in Forres earlier this year where they played far fewer of them and was disappointed. Now with the benefit of hearing them on CD they sounded much better. And anyone who can get "fitba taps" into a song is just fine with me. I think you're right about them being the new cool band to hate and I don't understand why really. I still think they'd be better if he went back to playing guitar though.
