  1. and Kerry King EDIT: Chino Marino (or whatever) too
  2. Mikael Akerfeldt of Opeth This guy comes up with the most original metal riffs and acoustic passages, fantastic chord progressions, brilliant structures and his lyrics and dynamic vocals create an atmosphere like no-one else.
  3. I dont know if this is agreeing or disagreeing, but... even if these top guitarists did think they were better than their influences, they aren't going to say so, I think you'll find they'd be quite modest about it if asked, its only really the shite guitarists that go putting down other players.
  4. I vote Petrucci, just because he is so versatile and advanced. I think Hendrix did a lot for the guitar world, but to me John Petrucci is the just at the top of the league. It's hard to compare really cos they werent around at the same time...Petrucci didnt get a chance to revolutionise guitar playin like Hendrix did before music evolved so much and Hendrix didnt exsist when there was such styles as Metal to show us what he can do in.
  5. Check out guitar George...he know's ALL the chords
  6. Incidentaly, have you listened to the MP3 posted at the top of Megadeth.com? MD45 Remix - New Dave Mustaine Vocals - "The Day The Music Died" Do you know what that actually is...whats MD45? Is it new Megadeth?.. im confused.
  7. Fear Factory...when is that out anyway?

I can only write lyrics about death. Mainly cos it sounds cool, but also because its a fascinating subject to me....its gonna happen to everyone, but they've no idea when or how.

  11. Cheers Tav, think I will give one a test drive.
  12. I've been thinking about getting one, are they worth it? Is it a decent alternative to actually buying an acoustic? Any recommendations... Cheers
  13. I used to jam every week with my mate but we don't do it so much, it was a lot of fun though, we used to have some amazing blues jams.
  14. Blackened the USSR is my personal favourite, the Hetfield sound-a-like is quite amazing.
  15. Fucking hell...sounds like they wrote those songs on purpose so that could be done. Crazy Nickelback
  16. http://www.stark-effect.com/beatallica/index2.html Has anyone heard them before? They've just made a new EP of genius crossover Metallica and Beatles songs. You'll be more impressed than you think..
  17. I was going to use that as my example....lets also ask who here can play Damage Inc and sing at the sing time...yes, Hetfield is superior. Can't think of anyone else that hasnt been mentioned...
  18. I've got "To Hell and Back" and "Suicide by my Side" by Sinergy and they both surpass my expectations...if i had to pick..."Suicide by my Side"
  19. Re: Re: Your "to buy" list Orchid is genius, I dunno why I've never got round to buying it. (Not getting the crappy tin boiled sweet case version though) I know the Odyssey is fucking amazing, the 25 minuter title track is astonishing.....I've been listening to Draconian Times on my computer a lot, not official enough though, kicks ass....ja, I do have all the other In Flames stuff but saying that I think Reroute to Remain is a good album, and on that note ill take the oppurtunity to again show my appreciation for their new album which kicks...my...ass.
  20. So what CD's have you all got on your "to buy" list that does nothing but grow! and the ones that you keep meaning to buy... Mine are: Symphony X - The Odyssey In Flames - Reroute to Remain Dream Theater - Train of Thought Opeth - Orchid Paradise Lost - Draconian Times Cannibal Corpse - Bloodthirst
