Mikael Akerfeldt of Opeth This guy comes up with the most original metal riffs and acoustic passages, fantastic chord progressions, brilliant structures and his lyrics and dynamic vocals create an atmosphere like no-one else.

I dont know if this is agreeing or disagreeing, but... even if these top guitarists did think they were better than their influences, they aren't going to say so, I think you'll find they'd be quite modest about it if asked, its only really the shite guitarists that go putting down other players.

I vote Petrucci, just because he is so versatile and advanced. I think Hendrix did a lot for the guitar world, but to me John Petrucci is the just at the top of the league. It's hard to compare really cos they werent around at the same time...Petrucci didnt get a chance to revolutionise guitar playin like Hendrix did before music evolved so much and Hendrix didnt exsist when there was such styles as Metal to show us what he can do in.

I think its pretty sad. (upsetting sad)

I used to jam every week with my mate but we don't do it so much, it was a lot of fun though, we used to have some amazing blues jams.

Blackened the USSR is my personal favourite, the Hetfield sound-a-like is quite amazing.

(Not getting the crappy tin boiled sweet case version though) I know the Odyssey is fucking amazing, the 25 minuter title track is astonishing.....I've been listening to Draconian Times on my computer a lot, not official enough though, kicks ass....ja, I do have all the other In Flames stuff but saying that I think Reroute to Remain is a good album, and on that note ill take the oppurtunity to again show my appreciation for their new album which kicks...my...ass.
