  1. Yep Im up for a jam. I shall keep a look out for some unemployed drummers!
  2. Thats true actually... IS this a serious thing, or just a lets come to together and see if anything happens?
  3. Cool, glad to hear it, theres gonna be some top music on show.
  4. I can play acoustic orelectric backing depending on the song, so yeah. Ifthere was a keyboard plater out there that would be interested then thats cool, but i wouldnt say it was essential, but would be welcomed for sure.
  5. Thas not good news, not good at all. Good luck in the future with all your future ventures...
  6. I shall check it out right now, and shalllet you know. Good luck on Aberdeen Music!
  7. Hmm.. well I would definitely say I was very interested indeed. Been playing nearly 7 years now, and Im wanting to try a few different things. And this sounds cool.. I can also sing... So I can help out with those old backing vocals as well. Indie Rock sounds cool, as you can see by the listening to section... Im pretty much flexible! Just a music lover... Ill hang around and see who else replies, if you want, just in case you get an offer from a more reputable player. Paul
  8. Sounds cool... My kind of music... IS it a lead electric you are looking for or an acoustic player?
  9. Is this for a covers type band? Or are we talking originals? Im a a singer/guitarist, but i ould easily just take singing duties with the odd acoustic guitar input... Specially for Jovi. But what sorta thing you going for?
  10. Nah i have that amp, and i cant say ive ever heard a noise like that...
  11. I am doing a friend a favour and am asking to see if there are any bands at all, any age, size or style that would be able to play tonight 2nd April 2004 in Cambuslang at the Cambuslang UC (Universal Connections). There has been a drop out by one of the support acts and the gig is in danger of being cancelled, but there are lots oftickets sold and is a very big gig I am told. THe other bands in the lineup include Twisted Rainbow. The band would be expected at the venue by the latest at 6:30 - 7pm for a 7:30pm start. Is there anybody who could do this? Contact me asap if you would be able to do it either by posting here or by email p.whalley@btinternet.com
  12. Well ill be there... But all those outside the bands playing? Hehe. Should be a good night... The Tree is a good night out, and I hear there are a few drinks promos on the night as well...
  13. Depends on the price, I tried phoning Niall but the line is busy, but I shall try again.. I was just wandering if anybody had any ideas of the ball park that the Mill charges... I have no doubt that its a great studio, as Jamesy said. I've heard some fantastic recordings from there. Would be a great place to record... Its cost thats the sticking point..
  14. yes he did... quite a while back... I was meaning if there were any other folks..
  15. Has anyone got personal experience of the mill? And what it cost them?
  16. What are prices like at the Mill jamesy? Ive heard its crazily expensive... Worth it of course... but theres only so far the budget would stretch...
  17. Yeah rass's post has influenced it... He hit the nail on the head there int erms of what the concerns are, ive heard so many mixed reviews about the place... It isnt cheap to record, and we want to make the best of the time and money... I keep getting this feeling that it might be the case that if Mark didnt like our music then it could go all wrong, but if he does liike it, then itll be great... Well what happens when he dont like it... Im all for construvctive criticism, and someone to keep us on the straight and narrow... But if that creates a bad atmosphere, and it all goes wrong then its a darn waste of money! Toms well... We made a live recording there for a demo last october, and it was alright in terms of quality, but we didnt like the mixing of it, vocals were too loud, the levels werent correct, but it did sound professional. We couldnt do any overdubs either which wasnt too grand.. We had good fun with the guys and there, and it was relaxed and so on, and was a good atmosphere top record in....However, there was very little input from the guy behind the desk, he took a more hands off approach... However granted this was a quick demo recording so its a very different ball game alltogether. But we are talking bout a proper EP here and not just a quick recorded demo, and we want it to be worth it... I have to say, looks like there is an element of risk in both cases... Im maybe swaying towards Toms in general bnecause we have a good rapport with down there, and we use it for everything else.. Hmm...
  18. We are 90% certain that we are gonna go with Exile...
  19. Aye, but at the end of the day it dont make much difference... Cus we would hardly go in and rewrite our music to suit someone else... Thats the whole point of this, is that we wanna make a cd of our music, not the music that someone else thinks we should be making... Its a pretty close race between toms and exile... So it hasnt made the decison much easier yet... hmm... Toms is swaying me because ive bene impressed with some of the Fat Hippy recordings, and because we have a good rapport with the guys in there... But Exile appears to have many positives as well...
  20. Put it ion to rnb today, they took one look at it, and told me it had to go to the marshall factory... So it aint gonna be back in time, but we have found a replacement! So its all good... Well just about.
  21. We are playing at Drummonds on Monday night, and today we lent a band the use of our amp, and it has come back blown, and the pre amp is dead. We wanted to know if there was anyone with marshall amps, with the built in effects, that would be willing to let us borrow theres for the gig... We know it is not ideal, but anyone that could help, you would be an absoloute life saver... We use the built in effects heavily... So thats why we are so desperate to find one for monday... Or maybe someone has a reverb pedal which we could use?
  22. Marshall AVT 275, 150 or 100 users...And Guitarists... Help.
