  1. I dare say Disco Stew would gallop at the opportunity of filling your duel horned head attire during your holiday!
  2. It was on the telly recently, right after MASK! Centurions was pretty rock. Thundercats is hard to beat though. Extreme Dinosaurs should also be taken into consideration. The Racoons, however charming they were with their fuzzy shnozzes, were not rock, even when the Cyril Sneer bit kicked in. Cyril Sneer, though - scary muthafucka
  3. Seeing as Scorgie's power metal rants bled into our favourite Maiden album thread, I'm starting a new thread which I hope will cater for those of the more psychedelic musical persuasion. Let's be clear, I'm not into Nightwish, Helloween or Iced Earth, so lets try to keep the posts clean (and by clean, I mean 'Non - power metal related') So, my DT album of choice is Scenes from a Memory... let the madness begin!... ...BUT THE FIRST SIGN OF A POWER LANCE OR MAGIC DAGGER, AND I'LL SET THE BOY JOHNSTON ON ALL OF YOU! Enjoy
  4. But like a sexy phoenix, I rise again! James Taylor is far from dodgy! His unique brand of bittersweet folk rock has inspired a generation of singer - songwriters, myself included. He is the man. Just because he isn't blaring through a million watts of amplification doesn't make him lame. Some of the most powerful things are said quietly, you know. He has sold more records than Maiden and Black Atom COMBINED! You cannot deny his appeal. He has such classic tunes as Fire and Rain, Handyman and the under - appreciated Gorilla "He's got arms like legs, he's got hands on his feet, he's got a nose like a doughnut, he's got a tendency to over - eat.." It's funny because it's true. His only lame song was the appalling cover of Daytripper, but that was in the eighties, so he gets away with it. James Taylor rules us all. Regarding Prog, however, I don't have a leg to stand on....
  5. Oh no,Ben! They got to you too? May the God of Metal strike me down when I say this..... No Prayer for the Dying is overall an extremely forgettable and embarassingly bad album save for Bring your Daughter... and the title track. Cue Joe to lay siege to me at the next band jam.....
  6. True, I'll admit some of the new stuff is very progressive........but I also know that secretly, you've never been happier than when you're singing a pre - chorus in 10/8
  7. Consider it as the seed that I sowed in the womb of the Atom that gave birth to a beautiful bouncing baby of METAAAAALLLLLL!!!!!! That actually makes it sound like I fucked the band........good lord...
  8. If he does, it'll probably be due to choking on someone elses vomit.....
  9. The album has a title! A Clue?......The.... 5 songs down and we're beginning our prog venture! A Clue?......11/8, 6/8, 4/4........ The Art work is in progress! A Clue?......I wish I had one! Stay tuned for more news!
  10. I'm trying to make up a set of splash - hats but I'm a cymbal short. Does anyone have a splash, of any make, for sale?

    . Frank II

Very true, but in other news, your 'listening to' section is pretty cool. Sounds like the gigon the 23rd should be brilliant. See you there!
  12. For what read when , for The Atom read Erskine and for in store read man boobs It's good to be back to my old self!
  13. What are your opinions regarding concept albums or songs with similiar themes? Some of my favourite albums are Metropolis Pt.2 by Dream Theater and Blaze's Tenth Dimension. I like the way that themes and melodies can be recycled, rearranged and reintroduced over songs. It gives a sense of connection which appeals to me. It could be argued that it shows a lack of invention by hashing out similiar material, but what do you think and what are your favourites?
  14. Good choice of avatar by the way!
  15. It's funny cos most of it's true!
  16. If by slap bass you mean soaring three - part guitar harmonies, then absolutely! I'll have to find myself a lady first, but in the meantime here's a few suggested titles: A Few Good LENgths The DAN in the Iron BARSE Fried Green JOEmatoes at the Cherry Pop Cafe MAC to the fUTERUS The Never ERSKINE Story, pt. 1, 2 and 3 The RASS before Time, pt 1 - 8 Tenuous I know....probably best to stick to songwriting, eh?
  17. That's if Angie has time in between warming my sack, which brings us on to the suggestion of... Atomic porn! We could finance a new album by having our own series of movies. Dan has set the balls in motion and has proved he can certainly hold his own, so why not? We could have the new album as the soundtrack aswell as using old favourites, such as Down and Blind, appropriately. To the Waterbed!!!!!!
  18. Best pace yourselves then! Your birthday is the day after Mac's and two days after Atomic nut sack warmer Angie's. Metal indeed!
  19. Joe and I were doing the math and we counted seven tracks for a new recording. Now that we've got a little time off, should we start thinking about getting new material sorted? Here's the thing though Atomites, would you rather wait for the new material on a future release or have us introduce it gradually into the Atom set?
  20. Truly, words escape me at this moment....o_O
  21. If my memory serves me well (and I did have a great deal of it knocked out of me last night on a bouncy castle), the line - up is something like Gilman Street Hot Mangu Quik Dedalus and us. Should be a quality night out and a welcome excuse to use make - up! See you all there?!
  22. That's really encouraging to hear! Thanks for spreading the word! There's alot of new material in the pipeline so hopefully we can live up to your expectations for the next c.d!
  23. No, I don't mean pack weight! I was just curious as to where we fit into the scale of heaviness in the music scene. One of our new tunes, Broken Alive, is pretty heavy and some of our other tunes have bits of scary metal in them. From behind the drumkit, everything seems pretty heavy though.....maybe I should start paying attention to dynamics! Over to you, Atomites!
  24. There are alot of things on Disco.. that we've forgotten about playing. I like listening to Disco... every so often to remind myself how far we've progressed as a band and to refresh my memory as to how some of the older songs go! In terms of songs themselves, I think Exile has the better batch because we were technically able to do alot of things we couldn't on Disco... Mark Nicol really helped up our performances. Hopefully the next E.P will be even better!
  25. I think if we're talking in terms of being willing to get into a fight, then I'm am definitely the least hardest! Although, I did get through the Grampian Police physical examination no bother, so I don't think Joe saying I'm a pansy is very fair! The hardest guy in the band is Erskine. The bravest guy in the band is Joe! That boy will pick a fight with anyone if they dis him!
