  1. I've learnt that sometimes you shouldn't judge a thread by its title. My brain cells, where have they gone?
  2. I've owned this accordion for 4 years now but have yet to learn to play it properly. It was made in USSR (so says the label) and is a Kpbixayok brand. Never been able to find out much about it, but is great fun to play! I am trying to fund new recording studio gear so am having a wee bit of a clear out. Paid 50 + postage. First offer of 30 secures. PM if interested.
  3. You have first chance to own a classic 80s keyboard! It is in excellent condition - I even have some of the original books that came with it. Also comes in original CASIO white vinyl protective sleeve. Casio VL-1 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia I am selling this to fund new recording studio gear. First offer of 25 secures. PM if interested.
  4. I have had this pedal for nearly 16 years. I bought it from a guy at school and then found it could do amazing delay theremin-style effects when you held a mic near to it. I was more impressed with that than I was with the crunchy distortion! It has been well used and suffered one accident when the battery cable was snipped when shutting the pedal. New cable soldered on but have used 9V AC adaptor ever since (not included - as I have one of those multi voltage things from ASDA ~4). I'm selling this to fund new recording studio gear. 25 ono. PM if interested. The model is SS20 linked below but SS10 looks similar (and that web page has more information) Ibanez SS20 Session Man II | DiscoFreq's Effects Database Ibanez SS10 Session Man | DiscoFreq's Effects Database NoiseGuide - Ibanez Session-Man II SS20
  5. It is with sincere regret that I put up for sale my beloved... I've owned this pedal for 15 months and gigged with it a few times (I think maybe 5). It is awesome and allows one person to build up a huge sound. The pedal is in excellent condition - I've kept it in a padded case. I do not think I have the original box as I've moved since buying it, but will look and include if found. Also comes with power supply and instruction manual. I'm selling it for two reasons - one, I've put together a band so they replace the need for my loop pedal; two, my son (who is now nearly 6 months) is looking longingly at it with dribble aplenty... ok, not really; but honestly - three, i need the funds to put towards new home studio gear. I've been watching ebay auctions for used E2 pedals and they are still selling for over 100 plus postage. New pedals go for around 130 + p&p. First offer of 100 secures. PM me if interested. (Manufacturer info below) E2 HEAD RUSH -- The Akai Professional E2 HEAD RUSH combines delay, tape echo, and a looping recorder in a single pedal. User-selectable delay options allow for maximum control of output signal. Real-time feedback and gain adjustment as well as echo rate enable sounds to be shaped with precision. E2 HEAD RUSH also simulates a four-head analog-tape machine with control of decay and spacing between virtual-tape heads to create complex multiple delays and repeats. The signal from each virtual head appears on an individual output for multiple returns when used with an external mixing console or multiple amps. Looping Recorder mode enables you to record and overdub layer after layer of sound in real-time, making E2 HEAD RUSH an unbelievable live performance tool. Depending upon which mode is selected, the left footswitch controls the on/off and play/stop functions while the right footswitch sets the tap delay time or recording and overdub options. The LED display indicates which effect in use and blinks in time showing the delay time selected. E2 HEAD RUSH empowers you to bring back sounds of yesterday, blend them with the ruggedness and flexibility of todays technology, and add new functionality. Every effect-pedal board needs one! * 16-bit Digital Delay - Delay time from 0.5ms to an astonishing 23.8 seconds maximum * Real-time delay control - sets delay time by tapping footswitch twice * Tape Echo mode with four individual outputs for each head * Looping Recorder with overdub mode - Powerful tool for solo performances * Selectable Fixed or Adjustable Loop Level. * Effects pedal for guitar and bass players, DJs, vocalists, and other musicians * Delay, tape echo, and looping recorder * Selectable delay options: feedback, gain, and echo rate * Simulates a four-head analog tape machine * Control decay and spacing between virtual-tape heads * Creates complex multiple delays and repeats * Signal from each virtual head on individual output for multiple returns * Record and overdub layer after layer of sound with Looping Recorder * Outstanding build quality Modes Normal delay, tape echo, and looping Resolution 16bit Sample Rate Normal : 44.1kHz Extend: 29.4kHz Maximum Time Delay: 23.8 seconds Tape Echo: 5.9 Seconds Looping: 23.8 seconds, 11.9 seconds overdub (normal), 17.8 seconds overdub (extended) Controls Level, HF damp, feedback, time coarse/time, time fine/head gap, ratio Switches Mode select, loop level, loop time, footswitch x 2 LEDs Mode x 3, effect on/off x 1, tempo x 1 Connections Input: 1/4" jack. 6. Boo (a free namesake bump)
  7. there's an ad in Ma Simpson's Music Shop in Stonehaven looking for a drummer to record an album. Will try to grab the details and post here...
  8. Hang on, Northsound still exists?! I thought Original 106 just hijacked their signal (and their news presenters, and DJs too it seems)... Waves FM always won out for me on the drive to Peeterheeeeed...
  9. Congrats Hog. Get sleep while you can.
  10. Thanks for posting - I mentioned it and your forthcoming CD on my show tonight (podcast available). What is the Melody Bar website?
  11. Hi Alan, I like that!! You've used leviathan in your song too. I like the open ending too. So is that CD #6536343141 then? Where do you sell em now?
  12. Hi, I meant to post this earlier - in fact, a few weeks ago - but I obviously forgot. If anyone fancies writing a wee rhyme, sketch out an idea, or write a full song based / inspired / named after something sea-based then here is the place to post it. There is no prize, but I'm actually looking to describe different songwriting processes on my radio show. I've written one which I'll use to show how I got the idea, sketched out the story, wrote and re-wrote the lyrics, then worked on the tune. I'm hoping to get info from folk about how they wrote their song too - even if it was fairly simple. If you'd like to enter, post your ideas here - or if you are shy - send a PM. Ian
  13. Send me a PM if you want to come down one Thursday evening and just see what needs to be done - you could even try your hand at the software - it's fairly easy and quite addictive...
  14. Thanks - could you pass on a direct MP3 link? MySpace streaming takes too long and is too error prone for radio play. Send me a PM - cheers, Ian
  15. If that doesn't turn up anything - The Music Centre (? think that's what it's called? ) in Stonehaven High Street definitely does accordion tuition. Haven't tried it yet but I've made note...
  16. but before you confirm your listing ebay tells you how much it's going to cost no? at that point you say fuck it and back out - not after it's sold... can't really protest when they've told you in advance and you've clicked the "ok, i'll pay your bloody money" button...
  17. So really... ONE BAND wants to promote their music? Wow. Ambition through the roof here...
  18. Hi. Look at Mearns FM - Mearns FM - Community Radio Station - Stonehaven, Inverbervie, Laurencekirk, Johnshaven to find out more about the station. As to their target audience - I'm just a volunteer and am not on the committee, but they have a number of different shows - it's really up to the presenter. The only caviat seems to be "think local" and to keep in mind things that are happening in the Mearns area or provide a service. At the moment there are rock shows, vinyl shows, talk shows, storytelling, political chat, local interest, interviews but the schedule is mostly the automated system which plays songs at random (due to lack of volunteer presenters at the moment). They were speaking about rotating the schedule every few months to give new volunteers the chance to gain experience. I definitely am having a great time doing a 1 hr show every week but it takes about 5 hours every week to prepare it. Depends on the show though... Bottom line is it's a community radio station organised by unpaid volunteers and funded by donation. It is not Radio 1 or even NS1. Presenters are usually inexperienced and do it to gain experience - otherwise they'd never get a show. As a comparison I've heard SHMU are more picky over their presenters now... this would be a good stepping stone if radio work was your goal...
  19. hey del, long time no hear - are you still in aberdeen? you moved back and i buggered off to stonehaven but i think it is unrelated.. hang on... east anglia?! what have you been up to? all the best
  20. Hi, I waited a bit to post this as I wanted to make sure the podcasts were working (they are!) and get settled into doing the show. I'm currently a volunteer presenter for Mearns FM doing an eclectic music / songwriting show from 9-10pm on Thursdays. The station itself has just started out and transmission area is really limited, however I'm now able to record the show as it goes out and upload it as a podcast later - increasing the exposure substantially. I've got a blog site at listen.to free short URL redirect and web forwarding service where you can see the playlist and listen to podcasts of the most recent shows. From there you can get all the information you need to contact me at the radio station. What I'm looking to do is pass on a bit more information about local bands and play their latest songs - I do trawl MySpace and other sites but as the downloader is currently out of action I am not willing to spend hours streaming and hoping the recordings don't stutter or skip. If you are interested in being played on the show - take a look at the site first and gauge your chances - then please send me a PM. There are also chances for interview and live sessions - I've done one of each so far and they worked out ok. Travelling to Stonehaven is not essential if you have broadband - I can do interviews over skype. Cheers Ian
  21. SM57s are unpowered so need XLR (I know Ian already said this, thought I'd explain why). You need a mic preamp if you want to use 1/4" to give the signal a boost. That's one of the main reasons why I bought a AKG C1000S. Battery powered.
