  1. Gamestation are doing a couple of second hand ones just now, but presuming you want the joy of putting your first smeary fingerprints on the uber shiny cover as you try to wrestle all one and a half tonnes of it out the box... as far as i can remember around town most places are still going it for pretty much 425, you may get it a little cheaper elsewhere, it's all about the bundles just now until we're due a price drop. HMV are doing like 3 games and a controller or 2 games and 2 blu-rays and a controller for 425 i think. Looks like amazon are doing it with 2 games, an HDMI cable and a spare controller for 400.

You're unlikely to get it for much cheaper unless you go second hand just now.

I got mine from Game, no reason, just coz of midnight opening on launch day really, tho it did come with some form of 3 year cover i think, but i honestly dont remember that much about it, i was a little preoccupied at the time with my new toy.

  2. right, story time,

having done some posters for a friend, he drunkenly introduced me to a friend needing a grain card done (presumeably for a geology course of some description). It's a pretty specific piece of card with measurements up the side and sized circles for measuring grains of sand/dirt, patterns in rock, that kinda thing.

anyway, having drunkenly said i'd do this about 2 months ago, i've just remembered about it and beside not having time to scratch my arse i'm certainly not gonna have time to relearn freehand if thats even the program i need to do the job.

Can anyone help out? PM's for further details if someone feels like being a hero and doing it for me, prolly not much of a job if you know what your doing but i really don't. I believe there may be some form of payment in order too.

    Cheers.

  3. looks awful.

They never do a very good job of selling the story to people who havent played the game in these things, just kinda expect you to know, oh, hitman, game, agent 47, assassin.

Basically i'm saying is, if i hadn't played the game i would hardly be falling over myself to go and see it.

Not that i have any plans to see it anyway...

The only game-film i can honestly say i'm even remotely excited about is Prince of Persia, Bruckheimer's taken the project, lotta potential in there.

  4. I thought it was ace. Not the best thing i've ever seen i my whole life ever, but ace nonetheless. It was never going to be a thinking piece, total sit down, turn off and look at the pretty colours doing funny things. Marge's Video to Homer was quite possibly the saddest thing i have ever seen on the big screen (after Date Movie, but that was my bad for not just garrotting myself instead of going to see it).

Theres alot of roasting going on here, i'm not being a cock because i liked it and no-one else did, but is is atall possible that going that everyone hasn't really enjoyed the more recent stuff because when the first 10 seasons were being shown, it was almost 10 years ago. Have people just grown out of the simpsons. I'm sure everyone here was probably laughing at very different things a decade ago?

Also, is it possible the introduction for far more extreme and blatant comedy Like Family Guy has just made the Simpsons seem dull in comparison?

I guess it's just odd to me that something that is generally so popular, is having such a reaction.

  5. what about bassment?

Both Places will be run by Barfly, same as when it was RFR, also both are keeping thier names as is. RFR is no more.

Only difference i think 'us downstairs' will be going through is a change in beers/spirits for the time being. I think the Barfly guys do have like long term plans for both venues, but i think for the time being everyone's just keen to get the place back up and functioning properly now its out of admin.

Oh and don't hold your breath about the sticky carpet, not in the immediate future anyway.

  6. Heh, yeah, they were 'practicing' in Moshulu for 2 days before the gig. They turned up on monday, i heard them make some noise at about 7pm tuesday for all of half an hour then they'd vanished by half 10. I took some small consolation that even big bands have practices as productive as the ones i go to ;)

From what i saw the show was really entertaining but quite quiet (in terms of volume). Shame they didn't use half the props they brought with them, i spent most the morning trying to get ahold of 100kg of CO2 for their t-shirt cannons, mind you, i guess given the size of moshulu compared to some of the venues they're used to playing, a shot from a t-shirt cannon at that range would of probably resulted in hospitalisation.

Oh, and JJ Sinatra (the first support) was freaking hilarious, he'd drunk about a bottle of Jagermeister by 4pm, i'm surprised he made it to stage. BHG's Guitarist was ripping seven shades of shit outta him in To-Go after the show, i'll be surprised if he lives to see the end of the tour.

  7. first off, sorry if i spelled your name wrong.

2nd of all, get your hands on a copy of drummer issue 45. (july's issue)

    turn to page 51.

if someone can post up the pic i'd appreciate it. my internet at home isnt working right now.

it's arran, and i'll pass on the message, his internet has been fucked for months.

  8. Boo hoo. I'm sure your girlfriend can stick up for herself.

You know as well as i do that she can. But it doesn't make me change my opinion that what you said was prickish.

Back on topic (the film based on the graphic novel that is), i think it was probably the best film i've seen so far this year (oops except Hot Fuzz). Gladiator and Sin City in a blender. Very cool.
