  1. moshulu for most missed... it just aint moshulu anymore, know what i mean?

pretty sure it is still Moshulu, you should go down and have a look if you don't believe, while your there there you could pick up and deal with the pile of outstanding invoices that are still being received from that gig you 'promoted' at the club about 9 months ago.

    Ooh... burnnn.

Also, Snaffles could be cool :)

  2. buy a cheap dock. and use the sleep timer in alarms. that way you can also use it as an alarm clock. its what I do anyway. fall asleep to boris and wake up to neurosis, sorted.

the touch could really do with this feature, the only thing that I really feel it needs is some kind of 'music on' alarm. it's noises are a bit rough, although apparently the new one has a better speaker on it.

The only other bad thing I'd say about the touch is the frustration when you realise half the applications and features are useless without WiFi and your not in range. Oh that and within an hour of spending 200 odd quid on it I was already wishing I'd just gone the whole hog and got a phone. But you cant really criticise it for that :)

  3. Apparently the AU Union is closed and the students voted for 2 venues to be unofficial unions. No big surprise, Liquid was one of them and The Tunnels is the other 'alt' one. Not entirely sure what it involves apart from hosting stuff on Freshers Week, I would assume.

I think rather than people voting its more a case of who can throw the most money at the uni to become the exclusive 'host' of the freshers week activities. I certainly know Moshulu or RFR were the 'alt' venue a few years ago, they had the buses drop off from hillhead outside the bassment, then they got shovelled either up the hill to the club or round the corner to liquid. Basically just drumming it into their heads from the second they get here not to go anywhere else.

  4. It beat Glas-"totally in right now"-vegas' new album to #1 in the Album chart, thought that was pretty cool.

I'm still taking time to listen to the whole album through properly, tho I agree so far about the loud snare and longish songs, but I should also add I the initial impression is that it's FACKEN AWSUM.

Currently hearting "All Nightmare Long" very much indeed.

  5. i like that new single, was a bit concerned it was just another hero of the day up til that outro, but unlike teabags, i'm easily bought and the sounds of a solo on a new metallica album swung me. Awesome Sauce.

I just wish they wouldnt let lars in the control room when they're mixing, those snares are too fucking loud! when he goes for a roll it obliterates nearly everything else. Cock.

Oh, and i still think cyanide could be a bit faster. It would sound straight off Ride the Lightning.

  6. That Cyanide track could do with being a bit faster and it'd prolly be pretty good, 'tallica have such a bad habit of sitting back and just grooving. I didnt mind it in the 'hard rock' (load/re-load) days, coz it really suited it, but St. Anger just sounds like thrash being grooved out. Half those songs would be ok with a bit of pruning and an upped tempo (and good guitar/drum sounds, and less rubbiss lyrics), I hope they don't fall into this routine on the new album. Tho now they're rid of Bob Rock, who knows!

  7. I got thrown out of moshulu tonight, not cos i was to drunk, not cos i was shouting, not cos i was being nasty and not cos i was singing football songs.

but because i had a hat on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

when i went in and paid my 4 bone, the lass at the reception told me to take my hat off, i pulled if off and when entering i put it back on (yeh ok, stupid move on me) just thiking nothing of it.

i went through to the back room to find my friend lenka, then got told by some guy that i was nae supposed to where a hat, fair dos, i take it off, then whet up stairs for a piss and to ask the lass at the desk upstairs whats the dealeo was with the hats?, she says that "you can where them as long as they are not covering your face" so i turned my hat arouned so my face was showing and she said that that was fine. i then went down to the bar, and the same guy said to me " i told you no hats ", so i said " the lass upstairs told me it was fine to were it back to fronts ". "i dont care what she said, i told you no hats, now get out!" said the prick.

WHAT THE FUCK! that guy grabed me (stupidly hard) and pushed me out! (i have never been dragged out of moshulu before, or even been asked to leave)

just a note but i have been drinking there for years, i know most of the bar staff.

so what the fuck has happened to our nightclub?

    Chi 666

you were told how many times to take your hat off, yet you didn't?

Regardless of what the cloakroom girl said, if the bouncer told you to take your hat off, and then he saw you with it on 5 minutes later, well if it were me i'd see that as a big "fuck you" no surprise he acted like that.

Incidentally, calling the bouncer a prick for doing his job (whether you understand his motivation or not) is a bit harsh.

Moans/Bitching/Gripes aside, i think the rule came from budz bar, as we have one or 2 of the guys that used to work the door there. As far as i know (and dont quote me on this) i think it's to do with being able to see everyone's faces, so people can be easily identified if a situation were to arise. Its easier to say "No Hats" rather than, "No hats, unless you can see your entire face clearly" People will just get difficult then and it all gets messy.

In future if you have a question about something security-related, why dont you just ask the bouncers (it is their job), rumour has it they are actually human, and if your not a drunken ass to them they have been known to be perfectly reasonable, even answer questions. I would take a bouncers word on a security matter more to heart than what the cloakroom attendant thinks.

  8. I'm still annoyed about the carpet, i wanted a square of it framed on my wall... but alas steven informed me it has been thrown out :(

It's in a skip out the back beside liquid, if you're that desperate, go have a rake.

  9. I'm sure someone who works there said before that they stopped putting bogroll in because people kept throwing them into the crappers and flooding the place. I'll see if I can find that post..... er..... here http://www.aberdeen-music.com/forums/other-clubs-venues/48445-moshulu-where-does-everyone-go-terrible-music-3.html#post654656

There wasnt a conscious decision made to stop putting bog roll in the toilets, it was more a case of we run out coz people keep pricking about with it :)

  10. on a slightly related note, has the cocktail menu in the bassment been reduced (this was a few weeks ago), or am I imagining things?

Nope, some wonderful fuckkers had stolen all our menus, so we were using moshulu's menu (which is alot smaller) until a new batch of ours came back from the printers.

  11. Strangely enough I didn't find the carpet as sticky as usual last night :p

It was probably just trying to redeem itself in light of it's impending doom ;)

I just hope to christ we're going to get a damn good carpet cleaner or it's all going to be a very pointless exercise.

  12. Does anyone know if Moshulu is getting a facelift at the moment, I've seen workmen outside most mornings this week.

If going to miss the sticky carpet if thats the case

Indeed it is, Painters have been in all week, the new carpet (yes, another carpet, i have no idea why) was delivered today, lights, upholstery and other fittings coming soon, work should be done by next weekend.

The immortal sticky carpet is coming up on sunday i believe, I'm interested to see what wonders lie beneath :)

Myself or steve will put up pics in due course.

    :)

  13. got up at around about the time i was meant to be at work with a killer hangover, rocked up about 20 mins late, served about 3 people in 5 hours (watched an awful lot of telly inbetween), went home, watched gladiators/scrubs, had pizza and nachos for dinner (yas!), watched lost/brokeback mountain/ramsays kitchen nightmares, passed out, all was well.

  14. I didn't get a proper look at the guy when he handed me the note because i was beatmatching two records without the aid of my laptop at the time, but i think he was wearing a Jack Daniels teeshirt. Someone told me he was from Basement, but i can't be sure.

Dont recognize the handwriting as being anyone from bassment, and certainly dont know of anyone arsey enough to refer to them self as a "proper DJ", although it could easy of been someone really drunk taking the piss. Nae idea mins. Sorry.
