  1. i can honestly say i think exactly the opposite. also, i love the 44s. anyway, i see howards alias doing something quite different from any other band on the uk ska/punk scene and i think the album highlights this, especially compared to the last album. "the answer is never" is, in my opinion, absolutely stunning and i haven't been so excited about an album from household name etc. for quite some time. this is again highlighted by the excellent reviews its been getting on punktastic and its forums. however, everyone can see this from a different view so you are quite right to think what you think.
  2. ace, shall be there. norman's fetish were really good. thought it was a bit of a strange song to choose to open with but it worked quite well and i really enjoyed the set, second time seeing them and they were as good as the last. i have seen the 44's quite a good number of times now and am yet to be disappointed. the energy they have on stage is amazing, and when they stopped and everyone sang "evening spread" was brilliant. it probably wasn't the best time i have seen them but they were still excellent. could anyone, ross perhaps, shed any light on the "new cd" that was mentioned as being available in the not too distant future. howards alias were absolutely amazing. they have now joined my list of the best live bands i have seen. i saw them with rx bandits in april but they were even better on saturday, possibly due to me knowing more of the songs now. anyway, they were jsut mind-blowingly good. the last song in the set, and on the album, "the end" was an amazing finish to an excellent set. the new album is stunning, and should make howards alias one of the biggest ska/punk bands in the uk.
  3. i shall hopefully be in attendance
  4. i saw them with RxB at lava, and they were fantastic. the e.p. is good and i have heard very good reviews for the new album. i would definately go see them live again, and will be at drakes on the 29th when the album shall be purchased
  5. there is a review of "it's a disaster" up on p*tastic now and its rather good. well done. go check it

  10. the tracks on that split aren't as good as the tracks on the first album i think. and the new album got an awesome review on punktastic. i cant wait to see them again. they supported RxBandits in glasgow in april and were ace. and, are you sure the mixtwitch gig is on? it doesnt appear to be in drakes listings for june is it?
  11. OK, it sucks majorly what happened to SOTY but i cant help but think its not true that there is no more to the story than what SOTY have said. And I aslo can't understand why anyone or how anyone knows that SOTY aren't the type to start fights anymore than Godsmack are?
  12. I haven't heard the studio version yet. The album is gonna be out in September, the first single should be "glitter and trauma", which is fucking ace, in august. Thats straight from the band/Neil the web master
  13. whats the deal with gigs getting cancelled in kef this week? first zen basbeballbat on saturday, now this.... weird

  15. crap, computing exam the next day. they were ace last time too
  16. ah right ok. i was just wondering. thats a shame though as it was an ace lineup
  17. wasnt this gig on? my friends went and said no one was there when they got there????
  18. kef, although i really havent heard anything about it on this board which is a bit surprising
  19. zen baseballbate + gravel trap + sonic boom 6 + dumpster pop + babar luck. who is going to this gig tomorrow? seems like an ace line up, but i cant make it
  20. Biffy Clyro - King Tuts TITP warm-up show, July 2003. There was no support so a couple of hours was spent sitting around waiting. When the time came, the "toys" sound from tvob album played on the speakers before they broke into toys, toys, toys, choke, toys, toys, toys. absolutely stunning. They even played hope for an angel, which was very very special. And ended with Simon on top of the crowd and James screaming into the mic. A very special night indeed. Franz Ferdinand - Kef, November 2003. Im not sure I would like to see them too much anymore, but rarely have I felt the urge to dance so much at a gig before. I'll never see them in a venue this size again, and I'm not surprised after their performance. Public Enemy - Music Hall, April 2003 - 2.5 hours set was just amazing. a true spectacle Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Leeds 2003, Barrowlands April 2004 - both amazing, singalongs a plenty
  21. whats the e-mail addres to vote? and what do you have to say i.e. "vote quik" or something?
  22. i just heard the clip. up against another aberdeen band - the front or something like that. the clip sounded good, reminded me a bit of whitmore, well the singing did in a couple of bits. was better that i expected though
