  1. whenever we have played tuts it has been great...the atmosphere when it is busy is fantastic, and its great to play a gig that is taken so seriously and run in a professional manner.

also you wont get a better onstage sound at any venue, and the sound engineers have always been top notch.

  2. one option would be to track it in a studio then take the audio elsewhere for mixing...if you are going to release it you want the mixes to be really good and you also need to be able to change things that you spot on listening to it outside the studio.

i could do you a good deal for this...pm me for details.

  3. The only loudness that really pissed me off however...is the fucking adverts on TV. So many channels adverts burst out the speakers so loud when the show before maybe only peaked once at that volume so you rammed the telly up loud to hear it all...

ha this also really annoys me. its a cunning ploy though...means you can still hear the ads even though you have gone to the next room to make a cuppa or whatever.

  4. I have 2 of these Helmets in a rather cool matt grey finish for sale. Size Small/Medium (they come with 2 sets of pads to make them either size.) They are both brand new in the box...i bought them to give as a xmas present but they didnt fit.

Cool as hell retro skate helmet...hard to come byin the uk...especially in this colour.

    25 each.

pm me or leave a post here...the helmets are in aberdeen just now.

    cheers,

    Iain

  5. My advice is to go to a lab (Boots' date=' Jessops etc) and get your photos printed. It's really cheap and the quality of the actual print lasts for about 25-30 years. If you can't make it into town to get this done - order your prints online.

    [/quote']

in some instances this is true...just be careful which lab you go to. if you use those photo kiosks in boots they use a different printing process (its called dye sublimation if anyone cares.) the paper is generally crappy and the prints will fade really fast. make sure your digi pics go through the same paper process as the film in the lab...then you should get good prints that will last.

oh and i wouldnt bother with home printing...the ink alone will probably cost almost as much as the printer itself and good paper can work out bloody expensive too.

  6. right lets set a few things straight.

in kirks own words the money was stolen purely due to "carelessness" on his part. this is really not our problem...it costs a considerable amount of money to keep the 44s on the road and we simply cannot affort to not get paid...we run most gigs at a loss and only just scrape together enough cash through t shirt sales to get home/to the next gig. if we played 2 or three gigs in a row where we didnt get paid we would simply not be able to afford to play anywhere. simple as that.

  7. Hmmm' date=' having played a real one, the clicks are part of the sound(sometimes). That's one of the problems, I think, with some peoples use of tron samples, they get rid of the erattic aspects of the instrument/sound. This isn't aimed at you as I haven't heard your samples, or how you use them. [/quote']

yeah i know what you mean...unfortunately i dont think the clicks found witha digital .wav file sound as "good" as those generated by a real mellotron, and a virtual mellotron probably isnt nearly as erratic as a real one.

  8. wow thats going to take a while.

the only think i would say is that having played about with some mellotron samples in my sampler, the whole "mellotron sound" comes from the different attacks that you get from playing the sounds on a keyboard, so if you just paste the .wav files into your sequencer they might sound cool...just not that much like a mellotron (i think anyway.) i also found in order to get them sounding right the attack and decay times of the sampler had to be adjusted to avoid clicks at the start of the note etc...if i were you id invest in a samper first.

  9. It's ace as an album, but I think some of the tracks fall a bit flat if you stand them alone. Personal fav's are Tracks 1,3,7,9.... Don't know the names yet - have been listening to it in the car. I think that it's another solid NIN album which thankfully, doesn't tread over the same ground as the others.

Overall, probably a 7 now, growing to an 8 1/2 over the next few weeks.

Btw - I have tickets mehawhawhaw. I'm so excited that in the coming weeks I might actually start spontaneously crying at the thought of it.

  10. I've still yet to see Today We Fight' date=' The 44s [/quote']

    funny you should say that....

    sorry for the shameless hijacking.

my fav scottish punk band is Contra by a long way. Awesome songs and tight as hell. lets hope they come back soon.
