afraid none of that old stuff...we basically just used the name.
glad you still like the old one though
-
is called Signals by Semaphore
its basically the44s without singing and brass. but sounds absolutely nothing like the44s.
we have one very rough tune up at MySpace.com - Signals By Semaphore - Glasgow, UK - Rock / Rock / Rock - www.myspace.com/signalsbysemaphore
more to come.
if anyone wants to book us in aberdeen we would be well up for it.

try boots own brand Catarrh pastilles. they taste horrible but are really good at helping clear your head. i normally use them when i have to fly then do sound straight after and they work a treat.

i have boycotted cineworld since they wouldn't let me in with my guitar for health and safety reasons. the only alternative they could offer was putting it in left luggage at the nearby bus station...at my own cost of course.
arseholes!

i might be interested in the cab if selling seperately?
what speakers? colour?

Where were you guys standing? I was at the back by the desk and it sounded good. Just the rattle off the snare was annoying.
i tried a few spots...to be honest i thought it sounded good in the quiet bits but when it got loud the mix fell to bits.
the snare rattle was well annoying.

It'll be Mogwai for sure.
It's the barra's for this, aye? Man, i hate that place so much. Eits sounded absolutely terrible on Sunday side.
i think that will be a controversial one...
fair enough it sounded rubbish but i think that must have been down to explosions own engineer...the barras normally sounds great. and its certainly the best venue i have watched bands in.

I cant remember i just want rid of the lot, please no more questions like this

anyone still after a tokai?
i have a black silver star strat. i was told it was pre lawsuit when i bought it a few months ago. birdseye maple neck...jumbo headstock. plays amazingly well. its got some dings in it but i think that just adds to the character.
also theres a seymour duncan lil59 humbucker in the bridge position...ill include the old pickup aswell though.
for some reason its got a 3way switch in it.
great wee guitar...offers.

I guess it is a good thing. Although all the other Barfly venues are roughly 200-300 capacity, with Moshulu being 600. Also, i wonder if they are going to work alongside the Tunnels like RFR do, cos i know they contribute to a lot of the dates that the Tunnels book.
not really...the one in birmingham (if i remember right) is massive...at least the size of moshulu
-
Will they spend any money doing the place up? Or at least getting rid of the stickiest carpet in the universe
haha if any of the other barflys in the uk are anything to go by i sincerely doubt it. they are all pretty horrible as far as the decor goes...
-
i cant stand elixir strings...always think they feel quite slimey under your fingers
the standard martin acoustic strings are great...and only 5 bucks a pop
-
the dude from Boris had one in sleazies the other day...not sure what kind it was but it sounded good. worth having a hunt for stuff about them

This is pretty pants news. Although it's been ages since I last caught the 44s, they were always a top band to watch! No chance of one last gig or mini-tour?
unfortunately thats looking very unlikely
I'd (in 100% seriousness) kill 26 midgets to hear anything from Martin Millers Minatures Part 1 on stage again.haha and thats definitely not going to happen! sorry

Sad, Sad News
Over the past few days Kenny has announced his departure from The 44s.
Given the nature of our strange old, lumbering beast the remnant of us feel we are at a loss without him and so, with utter reluctance and heavy, heavy hearts, must bring The 44s to an end.
Although 6 years have passed,* it's really taken us that long to find our feet and, to be honest,*we're all*nothing short of devasted.
Most disappointing is the flailing loose end that is our debut album. We still plan to finish this, but from there who knows. Most likely we may do a tiny, tiny run of hard copies and put it up for download. Somehow. Somewhere. We will be sure to keep you posted on this the minute it's ready for your ears.
Thank you to anyone who cares that we won't be around anymore and all those who helped us get so far.
We're gutted.
Please take care.
Goodbye,
The44s

aye stick it in the loop...then you should be able to successfully mix the dry signal from the amp with the reverb in the loop.
-
go see frightened rabbit. they really are brilliant.
-
aye and who is support? DeSalvo were doing the other dates...that would be nice

as far as i know ryanair wont let you use a driving license if you use the online check-in, but its fine if you check in in person.
strange i know but i know someone they refused after checking in online then turning up with driving license.
