  1. i am hopefully going to get a new guitar sometime in the future' date=' i have been looking at the Fender 72 tele custom recently and am waiting on prosound to get in the maple fretboard model to try , as the pickups seem a bit unbalanced (the neck has far too much bass, the bridge has none at all, i was hoping to be abel to use them separately, and not have to be using them both together the whole time, though that does sound beautiful)

i have a 72 custom tele...i think both the pickups sound lovely.

However the handy les paul style volume knobs let you mix them to you liking. handy indeed.

It is a great guitar. got a bit of extra weight that my us standard tele lacks for certain things.

  2. i normally buss all my drum tracks to a compressor and use it to varying degrees...it can give great energy to the sound...however using too much can also just make it sound flat and pish (generally the case with all over use of compression.)

another fav trick for a big snare sound is stick the snare in an aux send...apply reverb first then compress said reverb for a big snare sound.

back to vocals...i record alot of my vocals in my specially padded out wardrobe for maximum deadness, then use the wonderful emagic space designer reverb in the mix. also a wee touch of overdrive can work wonders for getting them to cut.

  3. Excellent condition, only gigged a couple of times.

This amp is small enough for bedroom practice but easily loud enough gigs...i never had it nearly at full volume.

2 channels (clean and dirty) and reverb.

Served me well for many years...the clean channel sounds especially sweet.

In glasgow currently but can easily get it up to aberdeen any time.

    150 pounds.

    Cheers

    Iain

  4. westie is ok but relies on a decent promoter to get folk in...avoid drouthys unless its through a promoter as the pub itself has a "policy" of not giving bands any money for their troubles whatsoever, no matter how many people were at the gig drinking in their bar :/

  5. anyone else noticed theres a bit in Jesus of Suburbia that sounds EXACTlY like summer of 69 by brian adams! tis quality. also the chorus of Letterbomb is basically just 86 off insomniac.

I think Give Me Novocaine is pretty horrendous but apart from that its a good album

  6. i think that if a band manages to release 2 of the very best albums of the decade then they have to be described as important...and in The Blue album and Pinkerton they have done just that. In my opinion these albums are some of the best displays of consistently amazing songwriting you will find in a modern rock record.

as far as other "important" bands go you can never leave out radiohead from this. i dont think anyone else has been as consistantly good over the last 10 years as they have. and before someone says it, kid A and amnesiac are incredible records...whether they are to your taste or not is where the debate lies.
