  1. hahaha oh the memories! in fact bri, ive still got a bagful of all the old drakes photos from back in those days...loads of Nero/Dave/Ali/fudge aftershows etc etc etc...in fact i was just reminiscing about those last night...if only i had a scanner to get some of those pics up here
  2. hmm some Japan, Heaven 17, Spandau Ballet, Human League, and ABC pleeeeease oh and got any Tom Tom Club?!
  3. woops there goes another one i missed then, S & E!! god im rubbish!! and a total liar it seems hehe :O
  4. loving the sessions...new tracks are ACE shall be purchasing the album at the gig
  5. i still have the original promo cd they sent to dr drakes all those years back...loved them as soon as i played it so i will be there also. in fact i dont think ive missed an Aberdeen De Rosa gig
  6. yeah i liked it too dave...not bad for a 'rough' recording. i quite liked the kinda vintage-y (excuse the making up of a word there) sound it seemed to have! yes, vocals may be a bit shaky but im sure they'll sort themselves out with practice...and just an overall 'tightning up' of everything will come with more practice too... sounding good tho...im sure a couple of promoters on here will be itching to book you when you good and ready
  7. i hardly ever read threads from start to finish...but this was a grrrreat read hahaha...brought joy to my ill state!!
  8. Balmorhea...yes, lurvely! Tunnels..Thurs 7th May more details to follow soooon this will be a Dizzy Storm/IMP/Vocoustics TRI-promotion, nothing less!...but will it triple the potential crowd?! o_O
  9. huw, if this is any use, or even just for future reference...send your jpeg file to the peeps at Iceberg Arts www.iceberg_arts.co.uk on Summer Street and they will do your posters pronto (usually same day in my experience) and cheap as chips they are a registered charity therefore you escape VAT on printing this is where i usually get my stuff done they only open mon-thurs
  10. ooh andy's handywork?...very niiiice...better watch out i'll be asking him to do posters for me!! thats a busy week that for good gigs
  11. good show Huw.. pneu look mental...and will be good to see Toby again im amazed that cellar 35 are up for these noisy shows ...im sure they vowed never to again after the In Decades Decline gig in dec 2007...wow was it *that* long ago?! o_O
  12. :O ok sorry for sounding patronising, i dont know anything about you, that you'd toured in other bands, put gigs on etc etc..sorry, i apologise! :O but yeah you're right,..it does happen everywhere....and yeah the trick is down to the promoter usually, to cunningly work out a running order to maximise a crowd for the visiting bands
  13. i bet when you guys tour, you'll *no doubt* find yourself in the situation where everyone fucks off before you play, its very fucking annoying, and when you get sick of that happening, then maybe you'll appreicate whats really being talked about in this thread hehe
  14. how could you forget BAKER STREET??! (flashback to my childhood + showing age)
  15. i put out a vinyl split single in 2007. vinyl is pretty next one will be cd why do you ask?
  16. good music all round cap sante were really cool...yeah apart from the vocals issue as lindsay mentioned, couldnt someone have just turned the mics up?! and id say it was good you were on that bill... Chickenhawk were immense...shame hardly anyone stayed to see them...*usual story* Secta Rouge were intense...totally ace...again there was even less people there by the time they played did someone mention 'scene'? hmm.. just one thing...if anyone puts on a gig in there again, please dim the lights a bit and make sure you have some sort of music for inbetween the bands hehe! good effort though dave my ears are totally ringing by the way
  17. the trick to this is to employ someone who has absolutely no interest in this gig or type of music but who has nothing else better to do and will happily accept a couple of pints whilst doing pretty much nothing on the door oh and they have to be trustworthy with money!
  18. ahh they play in Aids Wolf...didnt realise...the amount of good bands/bands i recognise on the prints all makes sense now! is a cool exhibition..
