    What is emo?

what pisses me off more is the magazines take on bands...look at the deftones...they were the so-called kings of nu-metal and now their screamo or summit like that...i like from autumn to ashes, allergo and some glassjaw but mostly the bands all sound the same to me and im fed up hearin how "this band are a fresh take on the emo scene" and how the band says how different they are when their clearly not...everyone to their own like but its not gonna last just like nu-metal never and im sure three years ago people were sayin the thing bout nu-metal they are bout emo but im proudly uncool enough to admit i like half of the stuff in the so called nu-metal scene...just emo/metalcore/emocore/post hardcore or whatever it is called...as a whole is not for me

    What is emo?

hopefully it will be over soon cos its all you ever hear bout on these pages now and its doin my head, i like some bands that are classed as emo but for the most it all sounds the same...specially all that metalcore stuff...and whats with the caps?
  17. well said! ill be goin to leeds regardless of line-up so i can moan bout queues and prices of food again but hey bad religion are playin
  18. yup i agree with stephens comments on hiding with girls...that whole scene is pissin me off...they sound the same as so many other bands and they look and even move their guitars bout like a billion other bands ive noticed since i first hears siberian kiss by glassjaw... christiansen were a refreshin change, dont think ive ever seen an endin to a set like that before... first time ive been to a gig in the backroom, must say i was impressed...really cool venue and im lookin forward to aconite thrill, johnny turant, allergo (what a line-up!), blaze, and skirtbox and the bombjacks in future...i'm gonna miss the take tho cos its same night as tiny elvis etc at kef
  19. i personally don't mind playing free gigs and i understand if im doin a gig where money is made that the touring band does make money...however if there is all local bands on and money is made then i would expect something but othertimes, money is nice, we use it towards stickers, badges and stuff but not essential... i also wouldnt expect money if i was playin in another town...yes diy punk values but music isnt a job its a pleasure and you've got to start somewhere...Tearjerk travelled all the way down to Hull and played a free gig after spendin 200 hirin their van... also, that estimation of prices is complete bollox. theirs no other way to follow that up...if you dont like it, go join a covers band and play for 100 a night at some shitty pub to a bunch of old men. because i put on a lot of out of town bands, most local bands only usually get a tenner from doin gigs for me...sometimes nothin, sometimes a lot more but i can honestly say ive never ripped a band off, besides they should be happy their bein offered a gig in first place
  20. id love to go to fear factory and cant wait to hear the new stuff but unfortunatly wont be able to go to either of them dates
  21. yeh and include track listings! thats a must otherwise its pointless introducin new stuff to people if they dont know what it is
  22. CDs are ok i guess cos i know loads of people will want to do that but tapes are preferable...well i prefer tapes cos its more effort in putting one together rather than burnin a load of tracks from your comp onto cd...gives me the chance to dig out things i aint heard in a while...anyone who brings a tape or cd passes it to person on door and gets one back in return...it'd be cool if everyone put their email address on it then maybe could give feedback to the person that made it?
