  1. What's the deal? Does anyone know what the deal is with the Lemon Tree box office phone? Every time I try to call to book ticket for something noone answers. I've tried different days, different times of the day. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a secret to this? Do I need a flashing red phone? Seriously though, you can't book tickets online (quite behind the times if you ask me) so you'd asume that the phone would be manned with someone ready to take my money.
  2. Yes, YEEES Caught them live on Fabchannel.com a few weeks ago and they were indeed awesome. This is a major victory for the Lemon Tree. Is this the start of something big? Are our local venues finally starting to play with the big boys? I for one hope so. Once again, nice work Lemon Tree, nice work.
  3. According to my sources... From what I hear, yes we are on last. De Rosa in the middle and Turning 13 setting the bar for the night by opening the show with another one of their sets that'll no doubt be very hard to follow.
  4. Yowza! I'm really looking forward to this. Just heard some De Rosa tracks, awsome and we always love playing with Turning 13. The Tunnels this Saturday is hotting up as the place to be for the best in Alternative Rock.
  5. Hmm... where you at all drunk when you wrote this Bobby? Me thinks you've been swimming in the Babysham Lagoon again.
  6. rough times First act should be on at about 8.30pm, followed by Red Man Walking. eric euan should be on at about 10pm and then the fabulous Amy Sawyers band will play us out while we all slip into booze fuelled stupours. This is gonna be fun. Look forward to seeing many of you there.

    style

check out check out Chris Carroll, amazing one man band style guitar playing. Some beautiful songs. Also the Kitchen Cynics, stunning and relatable homegrown alternative folk. These are a couple of my favourites, as they are stripped down and honest. No gimmicks, no effects. They rely solely on their musical craftsmanship and a genuine enthusiasm for what they do as oppossed to wanting people to think they're cool for doing it. The atmosphere you get is very inviting and comfortable and you feel a pert of what's going on. This is totally different from the US, THEM atmosphere that you get at most shows. Simply the best, DUN, DUN, better than all the rest, DUN, DUN, better than eh-henyone, anyone I've ever met, actually.
  8. Here you go folks Transmissions from the metropol. 1)mindfield 2)indian tornadoes 3)n.y.c. taxi jiver 4)metropol there you go folks we hope to see as many of you as possible on the 29th, even just to see the other great acts that we've got for you. I know I can't wait. And yes that is Rory of Snood fame.
  9. Far too humble It's great to hear how you're getting on sir. You can count on the eric euan boys always tipping their hat to you. You probably are Aberdeens best example of a consistant and amazing Artist. Most in these parts can only aspire to achieve such a solid body of good work in their time. I for one stand amongst them. Take care sir and I hope to see you soon.
  10. bestest day Yes, many gods had their hands in the creations made on this day. What a good job they did as well.
  11. Sneak peak I've had a sneak preview of Awol's set and I can tell you it's awesome. Some truly beautiful and engaging songs. I am really looking forward to the full set. See all of you there.
  12. The single tear This is a sorry day. I personally wish everyone all the best and on behalf of myself, chris carroll and my band mates in eric euan I'd like to offer any help we can with whatever new ventures the Dr Drakes crew choose to pursue. this is one of few venues that would ever put up with my solo acoustic dronings and I feel that without our time spent at Drakes eric euan would not be the band it is today. We owe a lot to you. I thank you with all my heart for the many years of good times and friendship you have given me. Good luck xXx
  13. Little does he know that I stick my hands through the hedge and fondle his wife. Oh yes.
  14. One of the best line ups Was an amazing evening. Politik were a great surprise. Haven't seen them in a long time but they blew me away. Mono were tremendous, singer had a brilliantly strong voice. Sadly didn't see Feverdream as had work at 7.30 the next morning but I'm told great things by one of my band mates who got to see them. I will definetely be checking them out again. On the whole, what a night. Good tunes, good crowd. Thanks for letting eric euan be part of it. xXx
  15. but there are so many... Gloria Flaw (single tear) Politik Red Man Walking Turning 13 Chris Carroll Kitchen Cynics Staccato Set Kathryn Sawyers
  16. sing out loud, sing out strong.. without a doubt Kathryn Sawyers, Greig Robertson and Ziggy. All of them have the ability to capture your attention and hold it firmly throughout their shows. Beautiful people all.
  17. Ode to a drunken street urchin That's probably for the best.
  18. Orwell that ends well. What a great night! First of all I have to mention Kathryn Sawyers, amazing. One of the most enchanting musical experiences i've ever had. Then of course to Orwell. We have watched these guys quickly become one of the most productive, motivated, energetic and most of all FUN bands in town in a time scale which should make most other bands frightened and ashamed. We wil all have to wonder just what they could have become. It is indeed a sad day. If the new spangly Aberdeen music scene was a motor car, well, it just lost a wheel.
  19. Dry those eyes... I agree, all bands turned out great performances. Our local boys more than held their own against the headliners. Can't wait to see what they get up to next.....
  20. with bells on i'll be there to check out Turning 13 (heard good things) and to revisit the awsomeness (if thats a word) of The Gloria Flaw. Had the pleasure of playing with them in Moshulu recently and they are def ones to watch. Nice bunch of gentlemen too. See you all there.
  21. yes yes, Le reno amps, yup yup yup but are they acoustic I wonder, I have seen them use electric thingy's at their shows? Still great though Oh and Chris carroll, one of the best guitarist/one man band guys going.
