  1. There menu now is magnificent much much better but not for the mass market bog standard Japanese consumer....It stopped doing sushi, no challenge there. No Sushi! The official blog of Yatai, Aberdeen's best Japanese Restaurant. Locally sourced (including their own garden), organic, sustainable blah its light years ahead of the overpriced mediocrity in Aberdeen....

Aberdeen Box Office SOUND FESTIVAL 10 : Productions : FOUND & Indian Red Lopez interesting music promotions on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads Home sound FOUND is the brainchild of art college buddies: Ziggy Campbell (lead vocals, guitar), Tommy Perman (bass guitar, synth) and Kev Sim (electronics, percussion). The band create an unusual mix of garage rock, melodic pop and glitchy electronica, which has just lead to them signing a publishing deal with the highly respected Domino Records. FOUND began life as an experimental arts collective putting on many weird and wonderful events in art galleries, warehouses and even storage containers. Their most recent project, an emotional robot band called Cybraphon, captured the attention of the worlds press. Since its unveiling at the Edinburgh International Festival at the start of August, Cybraphon has been featured on national newspapers across the world (e.g. China, Brazil, Italy, Spain, UK), made the top story on the homepage of WIRED.com and has been covered by CNN and TV networks internationally including BBCs primetime arts show The Culture Show. FOUND made their American debut at SXSW in March 2009 and followed up with a string of performances at CMJ in October 2009 where Brooklyn Vegan picked them out as ones to watch. In the UK they have built up a strong fan base and highlights of their live career to date include the BBC Electric Proms, T in the Park, Triptych, Brightons Great Escape, the Fence Collectives Homegame festival and Hydro Connect Festival. Their self-released debut Found Can Move earned them an impressive amount of UK national radio play including support from BBC Radio 1 djs, Steve Lamaq, Rob Da Bank, Huw Stevens and Vic Galloway. Theyve recorded radio sessions for BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music and BBC Radio Scotland including a recording in John Peels studio at Maida Vale. They also recorded an exclusive live session in the legendary Beatles Studio at Abbey Road for US radio station U-Pop XM 29. FOUND have a prolific output with two full-length albums and numerous singles / EPs in the last two years, with releases on Fence Records [uK], Creeping Bent [uK] and Aufgeladen Und Bereit [Germany]. The band have also become sought-after remixers and have recently applied their creative imaginations to reworking the music of King Creosote (Warner), Make Model (EMI), Attic Lights (Island) and Au Revoir Simone (Moshi Moshi). SELECTED PRESS FOUND sound like a punch up between Paolo Nutini and Captain Beefheart. The News Of The World their sound is so progressive, so completely unique, its demeaning to tie it to the stale confines of a label. Instead, we should be celebrating the euphoria created by their extraordinary kaleidoscopic soundscapes. 9/10? Drowned in Sound Sampled sounds wrestle it out with jagged bursts of electronica across songs that lurch around like shouty drunks on a week-long bender. Q Magazine Both band name and album title are spot on. Like musical beachcombers, Edinburgh quintet FOUND take full advantage of whatever washes up on their shore thats capable of making a noise and build up a delightfully wonky collage of sound with their haul. Its an approach that bears particularly juicy fruit the combination of the experimental with a keen ear for a simple, to-the-quick melody making them sound not unlike their label boss King Creosote holed up in a studio with Brian Eno Nige Tassell, WORD Loads of links arounf this one FOUND the band (Scotland) Indian Red Lopez Guitars, electronics and visuals outfit Indian Red Lopez are one of the brightest prospects from round these parts right now, and last years Castles Incomplete EP turned more than a few heads on its release. Five lads from Aberdeenshire and one from the arse end of nowhere (!!), whove come together to make music and art, put it all together and present it as an all-round audio/visual experience. Its what weve wanted to do from the very beginning, its just taken them a while to get where they are musically, and into a frame of mind (whatever that may be). Incorporating the visual relevance of it all can take time too, they're always trying to figure out better/more effective, interesting ways of presenting visual ideas. A belter of a show @ The One UP 30th celebration last year, ensured a new audience for this great band & we have it on good authority they were one of the BIG plusses at the recent Wizard Festival. 7. I tend to think ther review was a tad harsh, lots of people including myself thought it was a very excellent night. sometimes bands overstay their welcome. Alan & David did start their set & inprovised their way to the end.....right
  8. I just knew that that song would provoke a reaction @ the end we just pished ourselves laughing "very quietly" a highlight apart from the magnificent Mountain Man who loved their pants rider....(don't ask)
  9. The Guardian Sat 28th Aug GUIDE MUSIC TOP Pick of The Week = Scotland "Haunting but sharp-tongued rather than nostalgic back porch Americana from this US touted band" & then there is Mountain Man
  10. Thats sad about Adrian Crowley, hope he was okay opening for Beruit However onward & upwards Lord Cut Glass will be mighty fine......nae doubts about that 8-)
  11. This is going to be totally excellent. Emma's set @ Homegame was much better than Lemon Tree last year because everyone listened & enjoyed it, so did her ALL star band.
