  2. think it's time one of Fergies team gets the baton however if Mcghee takes it Milne has to stick his hand into his pooch with a five year plan/spend
  3. yes, pls remember doors 7.30pm come sharp & don't miss player piano who was excellent at 1UP & his ep is the business
  4. this is a must see event due to the strenth in depth of ALL the artists playing
  5. Clarke will have to be some kiddie to be in the class of Mcrath & handy he may be but hes not in the same league. its defo a weak Aussie bowling side. English batsmen should give their bowlers enough margin to pressurise the aussie batsmen.
  6. common known fact the aussie bowling attack is very weak warne gone lee has been over the top for a while & not much in depth bowling experience england to win a fairly close series still miss C4 coverage

  10. thats because the council moved very quickly into the confidential tendering process BEFORE any public consultation took place, so any proper debate couldn't disclose the FULL facts of the proposed development & any add-ons..... worrying times
  11. and you wonder why hundreds of local residents are worried that our green space is under severe threat from mass development & massive infrastructure costs which the city folk will no doubt pick-up. anybody reading this should read the first post & back the sports trust plan & email the chief executive who exerts great power
  12. the plaudits continue to come-in The Organ Album of the week this week So if you are looking for some interesting music tonight pop into T1 for something which will be quite special ALBUM OF THE WEEK* JOE GIDEON & THE SHARK Harum Scarum (Bronzebat) London based brother and sister duo, they were once in Bikini Atoll, theyve recently been seen touring with both Seasick Steve and Nick Cave that combination of names will tell you quite a bit. Nine slices of low-slung edgy blues and a whole lot more... Blues drenched in delicate feedback and tales of flat pancake worlds, painters, arsonists and seeds of doubt that get hold of things and grow in to trees. The world isnt flat, whatever you may have been told the world is not flat. A writer, a singer (a fishmonger, a dogmatic film maker), learning the ways, meeting queens late night over at Clapham, wasting a morning selling another mans shoes.... Theyve learnt a lot and they have it all here on this fine album. This is good, she must be the shark, they dont really sound like anyone else do they? This is good... This is good, this is letting wild dogs lick your face good, the true nature of proper low slung blues good, this is a challenging edge and hitting the road cause theres no place like home. And they can be delicate and sensitive as well, thats waiting for you once you get further in and work out theyre not just a flat earth PJ Harvey/Nick Cave type blues band. Kathy Ray is a piece of gliding glistening beauty - a very fine song that stands out on a very fine album. An album alive with the spirit of The Birthday Party, Johnny Cash, dare we say the spirit Dream City Film Club had back there for a little bit? Kathy Ray builds to something really wonderfully wonderfully good. What we like about this is the way is smells, the clothes it wears, that curly hair and those games of hide and seek they play, we like the justice of the holes in to which those songs lure us - some kind of mantrap and a whole hole covered in fuzz and when I think about it now, far more that just lost in a game - things worn on sleeves and easily to make believe. And then theres the quiet seven minute build up of Anything You Love That Much Will See You Again... really dont want to say anything about that, yeah I know, thats not how to review things, weve told you enough already - music is about mystery and discovery, and all the better for it it is, you got enough on your plate already and this really is something you really should take the time to discover. Everything about this album is good (besides the really not very impressive artwork), were in a good place now, kiss the big beautiful shark. www.myspace.com/joegideonandtheshark http://www.organart.demon.co.uk/neworgan.htm ps I will get to kiss the beautiful shark before the gig.....
  13. well they are two councillors for the area i live in & they are for the Sports Trust rather than the destruction of green belt
  14. Fact Tesco own all Dobbies Garden Centres Fact Tesco were represented at the Community meeting Fact from a councillor Tesco have held up up all plans for a new Tesco &/or housing devlopment(s) in the west end until a decision is made about whether the Hazlehead development will be be of Sports Trust or the preffered by private company Speculation Should a new supermarket or housing project take place the roads & green infrastructure would be decimated & who would pick up a bill well in excess of 99years lease cost for adding to the west end car chaos????
  15. I & 160other people attended a public meeting of the Seafield & Craigiebuckler Community Group last Tuesday on the back of hearing of some disturbing news about some wholesale changes in the way Hazlehead Golf Course & other amenities are going to be run from 1st April 2009. There are two options available, Hazlehead Golf Course could simply join a new Sports Trust, which would mean very little difference to the ameneties & the public access to the golf course etc etc Sadly the majority of Aberdeen City Councilors want to take a different route to PRIVATISE the golf course & lease it to a company on a 99year lease bringing in 100k a year. For this fee Hazlehead Golf Course will become a semi private semi public utility. The company that is the preferred bidder would be able to build a hotel & timeshare chalets somewhere within the Hazlehead Golfcourse, Park or Woodland. This company has no previous experience within Golfcourse managment. Additionally timeshare owners would have preferrential tee times forcing locals off the course. More worrying is that the the hotel & an unspecified number of chalets would be built in Hazlehead Park, Woodland or football pitches. This would cause a large problem of access for walkers & cyclists who use the area in droves. This area of Aberdeen has already a massive over-capacity of cars in relation to the road infrastructure & this will lead to even more bottlenecks & the possibility of increased danger to schoolchildren of the two schools in the area. Hazlehead Parks are in the custody of the council on behalf of the people of Aberdeen & as such until this meeting NO PUBLIC CONSULTATION has taken place & unless they vote for the Sports Trust Option Hazlehead will change forever as house builders will move in as a precedent has been created by this absurb development Please take time to email Aberdeen City Council Leader Sue Bruce suebruce@aberdeencitycouncil.gov.uk stating that when the councillors have their PRIVATE meeting on 25th March 09 that the they should vote for the SPORTS TRUST Option for the Hazelhead Parkland project. thank you for reading
