I'm in the minority when I say I like Moyles, aren't I?
Fantastic amount of money raised, which is awesome, of course. Not too impressed with the time 'cos of the breaks thing but it's still an achievement. I wouldn't do it, anyway.
No, he is not cool to like so many wont admit it.

The Strategic Music Partnership is a new initiative supported by Aberdeenshire, Aberdeen councils and Creative Scotland and aims to create new music partnerships, opportunities, collaborations, stuff, for young people from 0-25.
The SMP is launching tomorrow at the Beach Ballrom with a number of activities and performances and a slot has opened up for a young band to perform tomorrow night, the 9th March.
20 to 30 mins to show your wears and get a little press. The evening is cross genre with a mix of music but looking for an young Aberdeen band to fill said slot.
I will need to know asap so dont think about it too much. Ping me a message if interested.
Cheers

Maybe I can make a track for the digital download additional tracks

im sad i didn't make a tune this year. The Ewen family tradition of sitting around the open fire listening to my song on loop for an hour will be missing this year

A great deal of the time in Aberdeen it's the work the public want that restricts an artist. Start asking for something special and a number of artists in Aberdeen will be able to step up.
Rock n Roll's approach to marketing, if this is the czse, will just get peoples backs up. There's enough snobby arrogant bitching in the body mod business and Aberdeen can live without 'I'm the best' crap. After all the public will choose where they want to go. The fancy amazing art is all well and good, and nice to look at, but the bread and butter is often the smaller generic work Mr and Mrs Joe public are more than happy with.

This new shops Glasgow (or maybe Edinburgh) version place is doing well I hear...

Not 100% sure of the art work owner just looks like Tommy's style...

Look. Another poster. Smart.
Some of Tommy's fine artwork there I believe...

Still tickets available ye think. Not sure if this is one of those fast sellers or slow boilers.
'Mon he Mog! Get pished in a pub watching the match, head to LT, enjoy noise, speak to loudly in the quiet bits due to being pished from the afternoons footy, get binned from gig...o_O
-
If I manage to get a ticket when I try then cool. If not, then I'll hire a movie that night...
-
-
Hopefully the game is on the Sunday.
Aye, the tv folk will decide
-
If I'm not mistaken this gig could be on the day as Aberdeen play a semi-final for the first time in a long time...
-
Utter nonsense and all the better of it

Any of you lot out there know anyone that may be able to supply the following for the 4&5th Nov to a local arts org? I am working on putting this together myself but looking for a back up that may end up being used. There will be a reasonable hire fee supplied if required.
ping me a pm or point in right direction if so.
1 x 18 " bass drum
1 x 12' tom
1 x 14" floor tom (artist brings his own snare; all above should have coated skins)
Stands: 4 for cymbals (including hi-hat); 2 snare stands (1 snare and 1 for tom)
1 x drum pedal (for the bass drum)
Cheers

Karl is far from an idiot. Find it hard to disagree with anything he says... Lovin the program. Gervais however is an arse.

I'm sure they may be wonderful but any mention of Paolo Nutini just makes me sick in my mouth a bit. Mixing Captain Beefheart in there as well just gets confusing.
Never listen to reviewers too much. Most are just plain lazy eh...

Cheers Abbidde, so far...
The research is for the Strategic Music Partnership a new initiative supported by both councils and Creative Scotland to look at facilities, provisions, support and delivery of all things music related for 0-25 year olds. A significant area of work revolves around the contemporary sector and will be looking at recording, rehearsing and performing facilites amongst other things.
Just a heads up
All info is greatly appreciated and will be very useful as things develop.
