If you have dark hair and it's in a combed over style, wear black t-shirts and baggy jeans held up by a studded belt, then you are DEFINITELLY Emo. If your band has lots of screaming it is DEFINITELLY an EMO band.

I managed to miss Radio Lucifer by mere minutes which was deeply irritating. Rat Daddy were storming as always, Rock and Roll as it's supposed to be played (with lots of leather and pelvic thrusting), one of the most friendly bands I've had the priveledge of meeting aswell, lovely gents. King Liar and the Brutes were, as alway, a true experience. It was a lovely night all and all, I also had the pleasure of meeting Mr Frosty Jack and driving to Mel's flat wedged between 2 sweaty Rat Daddy members eating various kebab shop wares.

I was really surprised when I heard Deathcab for Cutie, I was excpecting a very screamy post-hardcore/emo band, but they're actually a very nice little Indie-Pop kind of band that make relaxing catchy little numbers (especially Blacking out the Friction). They're not a band I'd go out of my way to see, but a band I would like to see nontheless. It does seem a little odd their supporting Blink 182 though, they seem to be a reasonable established Independent kind of band, not a major label support act.

My scum bag friends are all on holiday or working for the clampdown so I'm making a solo mission, the realisation that I've probably missed the KLATB Experience is slowly kicking in.

I'm going to do my utmost to go to this, even though there will be probably be a million and one things stopping me. It's a rare day when Aberdeen gets the treat of a real Rock and Roll show.

Spacehog - In the Meantime (one of the most criminally overlooked British rock bands ever, this song also has a fantastic little high-pitched Smashing Pumpkins-eque oohh vocal and the little beep-beep noise from that phone ad)

Has anyone else experienced the might of AOL Broadband Radio stations. There's a huge list of radios stations with various stations for each musical genre, e.g Hair Metal, Adult Rock, 70's Disco etc and they're fantastic listening, beats the shit out of Virgin Radio's non-stop Dandy Warhols extravaganza's. I'm currently listening to the "Lounge" station, classic obscure Exotica soundscapes from the Tiki Rooms of yesteryear. I strongly advise all AOL users to have a browse, something for all tastes.....even Goths.

Technically speaking, Buddy Rich is the king. I always think credit should be given to Brad Wilk (RATM) in best drummer arguments though because he's just a solid as a rock, no-nonense beat-machine.

He also wrote and sang the theme tune to the classic "Shlumping is for meee, Shlumping is for you-oouu" Ikea advert.

The Wildhearts - There's Only One Hell They're one of those bands I've always felt I should like due to their genre and sound etc, but never really taken the time to get into. Found this tune on a compilation though and it's ace, the intro totally conures up images of inspirational 80's rock used as the soundtrack to 80's fantasy kids films a la Neverending Story and Flight of the Navigator.

The Pink Floyd cover was absolute mince. Their last two singles have been high-quality Pop though, catchy as Polio and they look like a real band aswell, they're singer played TOTP topless in a pair of red PVC flares and a feather boa, and they actually seriously use "Shamone", good stuff.
