  1. These threads always result in Wasteland violence Why can't things just go back to the way they were BACK IN THE DAY? When no one hated anyone, it was about the music, no one gave a toss about scene points or emo and threads like this werent started *nostalgic sigh* Oh and no one on these boards really likes me. It's all good (y)
  2. you would have thought it the other way round.. RHCP supporting The Pixies.. but what can ya do? Apparently they aren't
  3. they pulled out a couple of weeks ago. Looks like it's TITP for me (y)
  4. the beastie boys aren't playing reading (or leeds) anymore -Graham Coxon -The Rapture -Hundred Reasons -The Starting Line -Sugercult -Capdown -Spunge -Saves The Day -The Vines -Goldfinger -Reel Big Fish sounds fun!
  5. ..I don't like to admit, but are rather funkAy..
  6. Thanks. Yeah I get what you're saying totally. It's just a pity that such great bands have taken a bit of a 'backseat' in the music industry and that the media rarely pay attention to them, and prefer to focus on what is 'hot at the minute' (for example, 'pop-punk' bands like Busted or McFly)
  7. Yeah, the AUBL easter thingmy at Kef. Can't remember what bands are playing. It would finish about 10.30 I'm presuming.
  8. I had this conversation with someone a few days ago. Before I was misled into thinking emo was anything with loud guitars and screaming vocals, but the girl I was having the conversation with said it was more like the bands I like (Bright Eyes/Saves the Day/Get Up Kids) I suppose she's right in a way. What annoys me is the people who say they aren't emo, but are, JUST because it's become uncool to admit you're emo, whereas six months ago it was cool to be emo. Whatever. Still, I don't think it's a clothing/lifestyle thing, more of a music thing. As for the art punk argument.. I'm still lost.
  9. You know what? I'm more confused than ever now. *goes back to sleep*
  10. I understand where you're coming from completely, but I suppose everyone has different interpretations of what exactly music (be it good or not) is. So I don't like a lot of diversity, but I'm happy with that because it's what I personally like, but then you get 11/12 year-olds who are just getting into music and most people start off with the pop 'crap' (hey, I did and I'm not ashamed to admit it either!) However, once you get older you begin to realise that music isn't 'processed' and that the best has some real feeling put into it. But like I say, not everyone thinks along the same lines *shrug*
  11. Not washing isn't emo It's lazy
  12. There is no such thing as bad music. Just not music that will be to your liking. For example, someone who likes the above mentioned bands might not like things you or me like, so would class it as 'bad' music. Similarly, as you said, we might brand McFly or Busted as being shit because they are simply not to our taste. However, Blazing Squad do deserve to be shot
  13. On a slightly related vein.. what's the difference between art PUNK and art ROCK? I was thinking art punk might have been something along the lines of The Clash, whereas art rock would be more Interpol-stylee music. Ach. It's just a label. I don't think Ash is emo anyway.
  14. You can't compare McFly to Busted! It's just wrong. Ohhh.. what is the world coming to?? Anyway, the song is rathe catchy :O
  15. Ah, I didn't think they were, no, but I wasn't sure. Ta anyway.
  16. Ah sorry, I never realised. I think Xisloaded's current song is quite good.. ho hum
  17. I've managed to acquire tickets for the gig in June, but who is supporting at the Edinburgh date? I've been told by some people it's The Pixies, whereas several others have told me they're doing the London date only (or something). Anyone know?
  18. There should be a contact number somewhere on the AUBL site
  19. yes. i am in love it has the finger dance in it!
  20. when is it anyway? xisloaded arent that bad!
  21. Ooooh fun stuff! I got a poster from them (I think. I might be mistaken) last time they played at Kef.
  22. I liked the album also, although it does take a few listens to get into it properly.
  23. back in the day. when fish were fish etc *nostalgic sigh*
