  1. We'll give you something to put on the cd, I've got a nice track all lined up for it. Plus, since we're first in the queue we should get the coveted 1st track. ah, why thank you!

And brothers and sisters in the other bands, I have words of wisdom for you - Snooze, and you lose!

  2. try listening to E-Bow the letter from New Adventures in Hi-Fi by REM for an example. The intro for The Unforgiven off the Metallica Black album is an e-bow as well.

They are a sustainer => gives infinite sustain. A little grey box you hold in you hand instead of the pick.

They are hard to use at first but you get used to them pretty quick. They get more volume out of your guitar than you can with a pic.

I find they work best if you keep them on one string as it's hard to change strings but I may just be a spastic.

Go for the E-Bow Plus, it has an extra mode that adds harmonics and it makes it sound a lot nicer. It adds the fifth above the note, the one that your guitar sounds cool when it hits when you let it feedback and the other slightly higher note comes in?

  3. Deadenstereo fucking rule at not getting anyone along to gigs and making Fudge pay us out of their own pockets. Surely that deserves a beating out the back of Drakes.

Funny story about smoking weed there. The building behind has an, as we thought, 24 hr cctv "sign". Actually justa very hard to see camera. But as we found out, the security guards like to toke too. hehe.

  4. if you use a bass OD pedal instead of a guitar one they have a blend control on them whihc mixes the clean sound with the distorted sound and helps keep the punch and bottom end in.

i wouldn't use a 506, those zoom things suck. The boss pedal's probably a good bet.

  5. Deadenstereo are looking for a new drummer.

We're a 4 piece (with the drummer) melodic rock band gigging out of Edinburgh. We've been going for a couple of years, now and have some good tunes recorded which have been getting us good reviews. We gig quite regularly around Edinburgh and the other big cities in Scotland.

What we're looking for is someone who can hit the drums hard but be able to play a few different styles, and who can practice at least once a week, plus make gigs on both weekday and weekend evenings.

Things such as having your own kit, a transit van, a million pounds you feel like giving us etc would all be an added bonus but are in no way necessary!

As for influences we'd have to start with bands such as Idlewild, Pixies, Nirvana, REM, Manics etc but we don't really sound like any of these bands.

If you're interested we'd recommend you check out our website at www.deadenstereo.co.uk where among other things you can download some MP3s.

if you're still interested, then e-mail us at deadenstereo@hotmail.com or send me a PM if you're au fait with these things.
