  1. So no demand for Friday the 17th? If there is even a couple of people up for it I can book it today and hopefully make up the rest of the numbers with 'outsiders'.
  2. Eid is tomorrow, so I'm going to have to pull out I'm afraid. With all these late call offs, Guy must be destined for a return... I know its been a fortnightly thing, but if there is a demand for it, we could have an hour next Friday (the 17th)? I could even book it if no-one is up for it.
  3. Having said that, I've been invited to a friend's house for Eid and its just came to my attention that there is still a possibility that it will be on the Friday. If it is then sorry lads, but there is no way I'm missing out on a feast.
  4. If you can't make up the numbers from Aberdeen-musicers John, I can have a couple of mates of stand-by.
  5. I like the look of that Scotland starting XI. On the subject of Darren Mackie - I have seen him have many games where he's been far and away the best player on the pitch, yet chances are next week he'll be atrocious. I've never watched a more frustrating player due to this. I wouldn't say its ever due to lack of effort, determination, or interest though as he can match some of the best players in the world in those categories. It's mystifying. My guess would be that confidence is Mackie's main problem. An absolute critical lack of confidence in his own ability. It would certainly explain a lot. Given that no-one can ever predict which Darren Mackie will turn up I always feel it is a bit of a gamble having him in the starting line-up. I agree with Adam Easy Wishes though that as a squad player, Mackie is as good as anyone in this league. I thought he swung the game back in our favour against St. Johnstone when he came on and that's the role he should be playing; getting in the faces of defenders who are starting to feel it after 80 minutes. Booing individual players is a big no-no for me. I'll boo at full-time, or if its horrendous enough, half-time. But booing players coming off and on is a mugs game imo. Jackie McNamara made me break that rule of mine several times though but I pray to god I never see such blatant lack of commitment to the cause from an Aberdeen player again. I've been known to lose the rag with fellow South Standers for booing substitutions. Gets my goat.
  6. I was hoping CopperCab would make an appearance!
  7. Count me in for the 10th. It may well be my last ever game as I'm moving to Australia the month after and I have plans on the 24th
  8. My mate had a Wigan/Hamilton double today. Inspired betting.
  9. Came home to find that a first half collision with someone has resulted in the whole of my big toe nail coming off... luckily it had held in place during the game although it was still pretty painful to run on. Nefarious versus Guy was definitely the highlight.
  10. I had to cast my mind back to a misspent childhood endlessly watching the 101 Great Premiership Goals VHS series to get a lot of mine. Still managed to forget Les Ferdinand though
  11. Can you name the top 200 Premier League goal scorers? - sporcle I got 103. Missed some very very obvious ones as well! Tough quiz.
  12. No no no! The third album is their best effort so far. I'd highly recommend getting it and giving it a bit of time. Great band.
  13. Only 3 wins! But turn up again on Saturday and we'll have made it 4 out of 4. In Calderwood's first season we had a similar run of cleansheets (although we weren't scoring much either!) and we were the last senior team in Britain to have not conceded a goal until we lost a penalty away at Tannadice on 11th September... and we've got those Jute minks on 9/11 this year as well so here's hoping we can go one week better this season!
  14. If there is still a space I'd be well up for playing again.
  15. I rarely ever go there these days, but its always been decent enough place to have some fun. Had some absolutely hilarious nights out there before tbf. But it is an absolute shithole, you just gotta revel in it Me and a few mates did get 'jumped' there (at the Holland v Scotland game) for no apparent reason though, so I'd say its reputation as the most troublesome club is deserved.
  16. Is it gone then? I was half-listening to Northsound news yesterday and I think I heard them say their license was revoked following that review. Anyone in the know?
  17. 7/4 (Shoreline) - Broken Social Scene If Not For You - Bob Dylan Grand Canyon - The Magnetic Fields Heavy Hitters - Kayne West All The Songs - Sad Day For Puppets Cactus Tree - Joni Mitchell Fresh Feeling - Eels I Only Said - My Blood Valentine Ramblin' On My Mind - Robert Johnson Ex-Girl Collection - The Wrens
  18. Heading to the Kittybrewster in an hour, then will nip down to Pittodrie Bar at half time of the Spurs game. 2-0 Aberdeen (Maguire, Hartley) Come on you reds!!!
  19. Very enjoyable game boys. Frustrated I couldn't find my usual Hartley-esque range of passing and forgot to put on my shooting boots but enjoyable nonetheless. My legs are absolutely screaming now though If folk are playing next Friday I'll definitely come along.
  20. I may be up for a few pints afterwards if I decide against taking the car. It's only a 20 minute walk from my place but that can seem a long way after 2 hours of football.
  21. THE Mark Perry? If it is THE Mark Perry I've played with him at the Sports Village once before (think it was there). He's still got it
  22. If there is need for a couple of more I could rustle up some folk. Not students though I'm afraid.
  23. Chances are whoever is on the desk won't bother asking to see student cards anyway... Last couple of times I've booked they've nagged at the importance of bringing student cards, only for the person on the desk at the time to let us waltz through. I'll bring mine anyway, just to be on the safe side.
