  1. We'll have to see how many other folk post on this thread, but out of the one poster so far you're clearly the frontrunner!!!!!!
  2. Maybe Masamune haven't confirmed? Cedar Rose came about by accident really- i mentioned that we'd changed the name to Cedar Road but Kenny (Screaming Nebraska) missheard me and thought that i said Cedar Rose. I thought that sounded better, so did the other guys, so it kinda stuck.
  3. Yeah, Masamune and Nebraska are both pretty diverse bands. There'll definately be something for everyone at this gig.
  4. We are back at Drakes on August 27th for an Audio Dropouts gig with Screaming Nebraska and Masamune, under our new name Cedar Rose, to promote our new E.p.
  5. There's a free Undertow (Aberdeen) album available to someone who gives me a good enough reason to give them one.
  6. Hey before anyone starts bitchin it wasn't me who thought it was a farce!!!
  7. Oh i forgot to say if you check earlier in this post you may find that i actually recommened Drakes as a venue that would be more suitable for Fudge, i actually quite like the place and can't say i've evere been to a bad gig there *ass kissing*.
  8. There is a fairly healthy and innovative scene in Aberdeen. Lots of good bands with varied sounds and i for one am particularly proud of the scene we have up here and it's a shame that a lot of good bands are ignored because of geography.
  9. ? I also meant "from Undertows point of view" with regard to the Audio Dropouts gig, that 'we' didn't bring along enough people, because i wasn't there promoting it. Have also spoken to Shawn, all should be cleared up. So everyone should just chillout. Hopefully Shawn will pass on my apologies to Shaz as well. Cheers Phil
  10. Ok, does someone want to give me an even bigger spade!!!!! Shawn you tool (SARCASM) in no way was i taking it out of your efforts, you know me better than this bud- i don't talk behind your back, i'd say it to your face if there was anything to be said. I meant poorly attended from Undertow's point of view. And although you spend a lot of time promoting, i do as well with respect. I don't however think that this was a rational rant and will chalk it off to you missreading what i seem to have put across badly. SORRY PS SORRY TO THE STACCATTO SET BOYS PPS I CONSIDER THIS MATTER CLOSED BLAH BLAH BLAH. If anyone has any problems they can deal with me face to face. The people i seem to have pissed off know me already so that shouldn't be a problem. Once again Apologies to all involved.
  11. OK- apologies for calling Shaz a shithead. I in no way whatsoever intended this post to put across that i was slagging off Brian and Fudge, this is after all a forum for airing opinions on the aberdeen music scene- and i consider my opinion to be aired. With regard to the gig being badly thought out i meant that although fudge stuck to their pushing bands of different genres ethos, the ones they chose didn't complement each other well. With regard to the one badly attended Undertow gig, correct me if i'm wrong, but that would have been the one with Chris Carroll and The Staccato set- one that i wasn't at myself coz i was in Australia and given the fact i was chief band promoter this dosn't surprise me at all. Once again apologies to anyone i've offended. Phil.
  12. mmmm donut based fun!!!!!!!!!!
  13. Ok, i tell lies i almost pissed myself laughing when the whole donuts thing was going on, especially when you were forced off stage in a hail of confectionary goodness, wish it had been me i'd have been catching them in my mouth!!!
  14. Danny Carey (Tool) Travis Barker(Transplants,BoxCarRacer,Blink182) Matt Cameron (Pearl Jam, ex-Soundgarden)
  15. By poor standard i mean: 1. It didn't live up to my expectations (maybe my expectations were too high-i suppose i've just got used to seeing too many good bands in aberdeen) 2. I don't think that the choice of bands complemented each other- i felt really sorry for Sucioperro coz they must of got a really crap perception of the scene up here which isn't representative of how it really is. Fuck it, i felt sorry for all the bands- in the right circumstances each of the bands last night probably would've sounded awesome. 3. 5? I would pay that to see an up-and-coming uk band not four bands that haven't got particlarly high profiles from aberdeen. (no disrespect to the bands-but high profile means attracting a bit more than about five people per band to the gig). Ps- this wasn't intended as a personal attack on anyone-it's just my opinion, so if i've offended anyone i'm sorry but that's how it is.
  16. Drakes would indeed have been better. Drummonds on the other hand has more of an 'indy' scene so i don't think as many people would have turned up at all.
  17. Well i dunno about everyone else but i feel a little bit ripped off after last night. I can't believe they charged 5 for that!!!!!! Also, maybe the bands that were on last night are good in heir own "surroundings" but they all came across really badly. The atmosphere was really crap as well. As for who was at fault for last night was it Fudge for putting forward a completely badly thought out gig? The bands for not bringing anyone along at all- clearly none of the people there were there to see Simon Gall, Spike Pile Driver, The Cuts and Sucioperro, only Tar- which was shit coz these bands must have some sort of fan base otherwise maybe they shouldn't have been playing this sort of gig? Or were the crowd at fault for not giving each band the attention they deserved- come on it was like "hurry the fuck up so Tar can get on". A very, very poor gig that was not up to the standards i've come to expect from the aberdeen scene.
  18. Aberdeen's favourite no-genre core merchants have finally got their fingers out and actually changed their name. We are now called Cedar Rose. We have a new four track ep out early-mid august called "Unlikely Stories". Track listing as follows: 1. Point Of No Return 2. Faith's Eye 3. Okra 4. Kodiak We're also playing Fudge August 5th with Red Man Walking and Audio Dropouts late August with Screaming Nebraska and Masamune (should be a fucking ace one). Any info, gig offers etc pm or email on fromherashes@hotmail.com Cheers Phil
  19. If you mean do the Aberdeen Undertow have a website, yes we do and it is: www.gallimimus-terminus.com If not can't help you. Phil.

Who are we playing with on 5th August again? P.S Any chance of me getting a Deadloss t-shirt, and not a skinny fit one- my man boobs would be far too much on show for that shit. I'd even wear it at 'tow gigs and everyfing!!!!!!!!!!!!
