Gall_4185
the article like this which I read religiously was Dead Man Writing in the Sunday Herald.Unlike the other two examples I know of,Jonathan Wilson(the author of Dead Man Writing) wasn't a writer to begin with, just a young man with a story to tell. He was in his mid-20's when was diagnosed

jester1470
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4193093.stmwhat can you say' date=' really?[/quote']It's incredible that you can go from remission to death in a matter of months my heart goes out to his family, a brave man, and I think his story really is inspirational. I feel so much for his wife who married him and had kids with him never knowing what the future would hold, a brave, brave woman I wonder if I could be involved with someone knowing there was such a limited future, its the double side to the whole cancer thing, not only do you risk your life, but in some ways a lot of your future happiness too - can you expect soneone to put their own feelings and emotions at risk like that ? Metarie
I'm always amazed at the courage and dignity of people who are suffering from cancer, it's amazingly inspirational. I read John Diamond and Jonathon Wilson's articles and I honestly was in tears when the last article was printed and yet I didn't ever feel sorry for them, you simply can't pity someone who is so strong in the face of such things.I agree with you Jester1470, Ivan's wife must be a strong woman, and like you, I don't know how much I could cope with. I know from seeing it my own family, that it's sometimes a relief when the end finally comes for your loved one and the suffering is over, but everything before that is heartbreaking. Coping with the illness is undoubtably harder than coping with death. My heart goes out to his family.
Hog
Its good to see that some Wastelanders actually care to talk about something other than "wow, I saw a good looking guy today" or " how should I style my hair". Not meaning yo be sarcastic but life is a bit more than that!
Hog
Sadly, Ivan died earlier this month. Click on the link, what an inspirational and brave guyhttp://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4193093.stm
