what ya gotta remember tho is that only tiny percentage of money is made at gigs in relevance to the wider picture of money they make as a night club. so they have to improve it that way to satisfy the needs of the people they are making most money from and thats the night club goers and not the gig goers.

Thats true, but the installation of those booths actually reduces the relative size of the club and thus the number of people you could have in it. The walls of the booths take up space that could provide additional seating. And the whole thing is, lets face it, a bit tacky...

The installation of the booths in no way affects the capacity of the club. However I do disagree that we're not allwed to use them at gigs; it has certainly put me off going to Kef as much. Spending the whole night on my feet is really quite uncomfortable.

so many gigs get cancelled there though ... it's shit

:swearing:

Nearly every one of the cancellations are due to the bands pulling out for various reasons.

Because Kef does a lot of bands who have just started to get decent press, the whole tour can sometimes fall down because a couple of promoters elsewhere get cold feet and pull the gig. Aberdeen, being a bit off the beaten track, is almost always the first to get cut after that to save money. Most of these bands are based in Southern England and a trek up to Aberdeen is costly in both time and fuel.
