delboy
Yeah I've been watching some of it, O Sullivan was playing really well but missed a few sitters against Higgins and got duely punished. Really been enjoying this years tournament.
Paranoid Android
I've seen nothing this year and hardly followed it. Knowing Higgins beat Ronnie is good enough for me though.
Sam 45
I have watched a ridiculous amount. Judd Trump has been a breath of fresh, taking on shots that no other player would even consider.
ca_gere
Trump v Ding has a great ring to it when you say it.'trumpveeding, trumpveeding, trumpveeding'
delboy
Trump is fantastic, he defies science the way he was pinging the balls around this afternoon!
Scorge
Know a friend-of-a-friend type who played Trump a few times when he was just coming through. I say 'played', I actually mean 'got soundly thrashed'. Great talent.Oh, and Hendry isn't retiring? Come aff it Stephen, the BBC chair is the best place for you now.... Sam 45
This is the best i have seen Mark Williams play in a long time.
delboy
whoever gets through its gonna be an interesting final - the old guard v the new guard.surprised Hendry is keeping going, the minute you start hanging out with Virgo and Thorne, is the minute you are admitting you are shit these days. Just ask John Parrott and Ken Doherty!
Paranoid Android
But after some years he could become like Steve Davis who seems still to take part just for a bit of fun and every few years get a decent run in one of the big tournaments. If Hendry's still enjoying playing he might as well continue. However he'd have to come to terms with knowing he'll never get back to his best if he is actually going to enjoy it and I'm not sure he has yet. delboy
that's a fair point, I think Hendry is slowly accepting he's not the player he used to be and is unlikely to win many tournaments but if he's enjoying playing - like Davis - he can still give anyone a good game. It must be hard for him as he was so dominant for so long. Plus he can get a nice little sideline working as a pundit for the BBC. Davis is still competing well into his 50's and only just missed out qualifying for this years event so there's no reason why Hendry cannot continue in this vein. Paranoid Android
Davis also became more popular than he ever was at the top once people saw him as being more relaxed and easy going on tv.
