that was after quik played with them at the lemon tree.

The drummer was sound...he was watching me for most of our set and then said "awesome drumming man!" to which i replied "are you fucking kidding?" he found that quite funny....

they are bollocks though!

Of course, because any band beggining with "the" that are mentioned in the nme is automatically crap. Also they will all be quickly forgotten.

What about THE Beatles, THE Smiths, THE Pixies or THE Clash. Now go away and never speak about what you do not know of.

The Libertines are good, but not as extremely brilliant as some think.

anyway, i agree with you fully that the libertines are one of the most influential bands endaround and i admire pete's attitude towards music. yes he might probably do every sort of drug imaginable, but that does not effect how he writes songs/music. Pete's already had reasonable success with babyshambles, and the libertines seem to be earning themselves an increasing fanbase so whether pete is in the priory or not, this is not the

---- nme never broke this story, nme is glorified horse shit, but for making that twat from the darkness make even stoooopider than what he is just makes me give it the thumbs up, pete sold his story to the sun newspaper, m'dear. he wrote a message a few days prior on his message board/blog type of thing, asking for a loan of 1k until the albums released this summer... obviously no givers, so he hooked up with the nations favourite to make some quick dosh, reasonable success with babyshambles? ahahahha! babyshambles are a mess- they're not the libertines, nor or they close, but they make a good job at what they're doing, seen them at a great venue down south, The Mill in Preston a mere 3 weeks ago- failing to mention aftershow party, small venue, but afterwards bands usuallly come and socialise with everyone (The Stands, Babyshambles and Shed 7 did for example this year)..it has like a club night afterwards...

no, i never meant the nme broke the story about him leaving, but they had the exclusive (apparently) on him being sent to the priory. initially, when reading this thread and posting my reply, i knew nothing about pete leaving, so i guess, in a way, you could say that i had completely the wrong end of the stick. i apologise for that. it wasn't until i went onto livejournal and read my friends pages that i realised he had left/was leaving.

actually, i had heard babyshambles prior to the libertines, so i dunno. maybe i'm wrong.

apologies for my lame answer. i really shouldn't try and say anything vaguely intelligent in the future *hides under rock*

Strage that, I could say the exact same thing about you.

As to the quik fella, Fun Bobby/Gary is a mean drummer, with a quality drum kit setup, his timing,. drumming *insert clever suitable words for drumming skills here* is boss! dont look back into the sun the last release from the libertines is an example of zat.

psydoll- you're funny

Yay! Pete Libertine is far greater than thou.

THE LIBERTINES proved they are far from splitting last night after PETE DOHERTY joined the rest of the band on stage at a small club show in LONDON.

In front of around 100 people the band played a set including Dont Look Back Into The Sun and forthcoming single Cant Stand Me.

The band finished with a rousing version of The Good Old Days. Earlier Pete led the crowd in a chorus of Happy Birthday for Carl, who turned 26 the day before.

He's off to Dot Cotton's Thamkrabok Monastery!

Hail.
