Will there be any phasing issues?Appropriate questions. As long as everything is set on stun, the phasers should have no problem with this amplifier or the missing twin. And we can use the leftovers for a signal fire and a stunning turkish barbeque.
Thornybank
I have a quartet of NOS cryo matched Area 51 6L6GCs - the ones with dylithium filaments. I tried them in a Peavey Deuce, but they kept warping into the alpha quadrant. Maybe they wil be stable in the Twin? [Please - no worm hole jokes. I'm not kidding around here.]

I infer from what you write that you only had one, when you can clearly see from the name that they are meant to run in pairs- it's all in the name. I suspect that to be the issue with stability. With 2 of them and a large plank of wood they make an effective footstool.

Mr Henry, form an away team and we'll take a shuttle craft to Edinburgh and sort this out... phazers to stun:guns:

I'm currently wearing a blue shirt, and as anyone with a colour television knows, it's always the geologist in the blue shirt that gets killed once the landing party has landed. I shall monitor progress from my easy chair this evening if you don't mind. I will send a delegate, an interesting chap with no self esteem who follows musicians anywhere and is suitable for a landing party. You may refer to him as the harmonica player.... Thornybank
I have run some bisymetric algorithms to detrmine when hte answer will come. [Had to upgrade the Amstrad from 512 to 1024 to do it.] All signs say Page 8 with a confidence interval of 3-7 replies. Can't wait!

britheguy
Guys, I would have thought that you guys would know what a Fender twin was. There is no second 'twin amp' nor has it anything to do with a 'chip of some sort. It is a valve amp which is known for it's great clean tones. Newer 'twins' have overdrive but early ones did not. The term twin comes for the groovy chrome leggy things which allow it to be tilted back so the user can hear it. He must be deaf if he could not hear 100w blasting out. Fender did toy with the idea of having only one leg for tilting it back, but thought the term Fender 'Single', sounded too much like a cheapskate buying a ciggie from the ice cream van. If you have any other questions regrading music gear fire away.
Thornybank
Here's a question: If I plug into both channels, does that 'twin' the sound? 'Cos that would be cool! And maybe I would only need one of the Twins. But which one? Sigh....
sonhenry
Nope, you get phase cancelation between the two channels. You need two for stereo. Or, if you're Ted Nugent, you need 3 pairs and a couple of cabs. Read on....
Thornybank
OK, so, I need both the Twins. Are they for sale? How much? Are they 100w or 135w?This somehow seems spookily familiar.
User name
Twin for sale.....the "other" one !Not an identical one as the other sibling was 100w. This one is 99w.
sonhenry
Thanks for the kind offer, but it will still be part of a set, and not the entire set. And I am now bidding on a Fender Quad Reverb, that appears to be one of a matched set of 4 that will fit fine in my Audi Quattro.

jon
Here's a question: If I plug into both channels, does that 'twin' the sound? 'Cos that would be cool! And maybe I would only need one of the Twins. But which one? Sigh....I should have thought it was obvious by now that the twins are Siamese, and so cannot be separated. I agree that the wattage presents a problem, but I believe it could be overcome by the surgeon's knife.I do feel that the original poster has been lax in his responses however, to whit: I am still unsure if the Twin is 100W or 135W, I do not know the colour of the tolex or the tone pots and I have yet to find out if it has wheels, let alone if they are battery operated.Considering the circumstances, I have permitted myself to wonder if the prevalence of Gumtree et al has impeded the youth of today in their attempts at salesmanship. sonhenry
As per this technical drawing, observe that the conjoined twins are tied by one ore more critical components. I don't believe that this can be the case in this instance, given that one part in the pair is obviously missing. Plus, this amplifier was made in Fullerton, California which is a great distance from Siam. But, young squire, you are correct in your other assertions. Tolex, knob color (which is gettng a little personal but it was you that asked first) and other details are crucial to a successful business transaction. britheguy
With a 4 chambered heart, it could become costly when a re-valve is required.

Thornybank
I hae found a picture of hte mising twin - almost.Twinfenders image by Darkfro on PhotobucketThis is a pevious owner, having just struck an E minor chord, sending the Twin shimmering into betweentimespace, to emerge elsewhenwhere. Notice that his hoodie is black. Proof of his youthful disaffectation. Apparently, just after this photo was taken, this chap went out, got wrecked and screaming 'O Wottagoo Siam' crashed his Audi into a special surgical unit specialising in disconjoination.Probably cried fae Fife.
