stevealex35
Hi,Am thinking about upgrading the pickups on my Fender P bass. Was wondering if any one could offer any advice on which ones to consider? Really like the bass guitar tone on Death Cab For Cutie's album "we have the facts and were voting yes". Don't know if simply a pickup upgrade will help achieve this or not, thought it may be worth a try!CheersSteve
Decontrol
There are a few good pickups for a P bass, i would try either Bartolini's or wizard pickups both of them are really good. And (if you havent already) fit a badass bridge cause it'll give you much more sustain.d. Spoonie
fit a badass II for sure and then definitely try out whatever you can. kent armstrong pickups are sweet. i've got EMG's in 2 of my fenders and i love them. /x
Huw
can you get badass bridges for any model?
Spoonie
if it's a pbass it'll fit. take it into one of the shops and give them some chat to be sure. there's no harm in buying it and fitting it yourself but it needs to be done just right. not too tough, but i've paid to have it done both times to be sure there are no mistakes. /x
fatboy
I'd see what seymour duncan pickups are available or see if bare knuckle pickups do bass pickups
Old Gold
If you've not got a good amplifier, replacing Fender bass pickups is pretty much money down the drain.
