Neil
I thought A Perfect Circle were all finished now? I have to say Machina I is my favourite Pumpkins album as well closely followed Siamese Dream. And Machina II can't be that rare - I picked it up for £10 on a double CD in One-Up's second-hand section years ago.

It is available for free on many websites.

One could argue you can get any album for free on the Internet though, if you know where to look...
TR!ΔNGL€ T€€TH
That's a fair point. It was always planned with Machina II that it would be available for free to fans, so all the internet sites offering it for free are actually legitimate for a change. £10 isn't too bad for such a good album anyway I'm fairly certain A Perfect Circle have split now. Larsen B
From www.smashingpumpkins.com"The Smashing Pumpkins are currently in the recording studio with legendary producer Roy Thomas Baker (Queen' date=' The Cars, The Darkness), at work on their first new album since 1999."I'm guessing B0lly is going to be going to grandeous (sp?) sound again from his choice of producer.Eric Avery (ex Jane's Addiction) is alledgedly playing bass on the new album too.[/quote']I reckon it's sounds like they might be making some cheesy FM-rock. TR!ΔNGL€ T€€TH
I doubt it, if B0lly had wanted to make that kind of record, he would have done it by now. It's well known that he is a big fan of The Cars, Cheap Trick etc...
delboy
nice to see corgan going back to the day job, i hope james is involved wouldnt be the same without him. fantastic band must dig out some of the old albums!

delboy
i was listening to pisces iscariot the other day and although its only a compilation its still a work of genius!
KarmaTsunami
is there a definitive line up for the album recording/live dates? i'm happy to shell out for a ticket to see them at a UK festival if Iha's involved, but if it's just Billy and Jimmy i might not. TR!ΔNGL€ T€€TH
I'd put money on it not being the original line up.
KarmaTsunami
well abidy knows that mellissa auf der maur is taking darcy's place again. i'm just curious if james iha is back on board. at least then it'd be the line-up i saw on their farewell tour. TR!ΔNGL€ T€€TH
there was a thread on here saying APC were splitting up so iha may be at a loose end - u never know.Hmm, Corgan has basically come out and said that the reason the Smashing Pumpkins broke up was because of James, so I can't see him being involved. Larsen B
More news! The album is called "Zeitgeist" and is out on the 7/7/7 in America, which is unusual because that is a Saturday. No more news on the line-up being anything other than Billy and Jimmy.
Guest bluesxman
This must be the least desired comeback since Take That. For me, anyway. Reform Zwan, they were better.

Ever. if ever a word didn't reflect the zeitgeist, then it's "zeitgeist". How 1994. Even The levellers called an album by that name about a decade ago. TR!ΔNGL€ T€€TH
I agree, it is a bad album title. But then again, the best thing you could say about the album title Machina/The Machines of God is that it is a bit clumsy. I do really want this album to be good, but I have a feeling that it will be about as good as B0lly's solo record.
TR!ΔNGL€ T€€TH
Smashing Pumpkins reunion won't include Iha | News | NME.COMJames wont be involved with the reunion, which isn't a surprise really. Not sure if there is actually anyone out there who wants to hear another one of his solo records though.
KarmaTsunami
yeah, not a surprise...but still a bit gutting. glad i didn't get tickets for reading/leeds now.
TR!ΔNGL€ T€€TH
Quote from Ben Lee (Australian singer-songwriter person) about the new LP: went to the Smashing Pumpkins album-wrap party and heard their awesome newie. Seriously, the heaviest and most intense thing they have ever done. Really exceptional. Sounds like the world needs a record like that right now.*makes small mess in pants*
