kirkt
Just listened to nearly the whole thing in Sainsburys. It's really fuckin good...I thought he might have been passed it but he's still writing great timeless songs although a few of them sounded like they should be on the 2nd half of Abbey Road or his first solo album. English Tea and Jenifer Wren particuarly caught my attention. Anyone else heard it? Thoughts?
-matthEw-
Couldnt believe how good it was to be honest ! and this is from someone who hasnt really liked any Macca solo at all, apart from McCartney and Ram perhaps. thumbs up! kirkt
I would really like to believe that he's actually back to somewhere near his best' date=' but I'm still wary of new McCartney product after the schlock he's produced in the last 25 years (although Flowers In The Dirt and McCartney II are pretty good, I guess). I may pick it up next time I'm in 1Up if it's as good as you guys say.[/quote']I think since the Beatles Anthology, he's been out of his embarassing years. Flaming Pie was a good album. This is better than that.

threeornothing
The current one on the radio (fine line?) is so middle of the road....its not as bad as wings, but it just sounds a bit pointless....Can't expect the songs to be as good as the Beatles 40 years down the road I guess
delboy
the single is pretty bland standard macca fodder but i've heard a couple of tracks on the radio and it sounds vaguely interesting. i agree that flaming pie was a great record but never heard the follow up driving rain. might purchase it in a moment of weakness though unlikely. Thoughts?I'm awaiting my copy arriving from Amazon but I hope your summary is on the mark as with every release I am disappointed but still go out and through my cash away...the blind following the bland. Maybe I'll be amazed...this time.Fine Line has grown on me though... I missed the Abbey Road thing on Radio 2 last night but the trailers sounded good so I'll check out the download.
