Larsen B
At the end of the day NME caters for label bands. some are good some arent so good .Itd be wrong to think that every word printed in NME should be framed and worshipped' date=' itd also be wrong to discount every band that NME write about.[/quote']What exactly do you mean by "label bands"?? NARC
It caters for bands that are young, new and breaking through. It's a national publication, it would be a waste of time and money to send reviewers to see unsigned bands.
Guest neil ex
If you wouldn't know any of those bands if you didn't go to exodus' date=' surely that makes them more alternative. Interpol would be your favourite band in the world if they had only released that EP on Chemikal Underground. Aberfeldy had a decent sized feature in NME a while back so you better stop liking them. You don't know it Yousef but you are more shallow in which bands you decide to like than those who only listen to bands who NME big-up, because you will totally disregard a band purely because they are popular with the music press like NME. You are too much of cynical Daria-style hipster to like music that will ever be played in a club.[/quote']Think what you like, and thanks for that! NARC
By the way, Neil Ex, you are cordially invited to my leaving party at Exodus a week Saturday. So don't make plans. There will be a feast of NME-played bands for you to enjoy courtesy of DJ DAVE!

less_than_stu
You'd much rather be breakdancing to an untitled Sigur Ros song?? Good point. But my proposition was for an ambient night somewhere. ie: A night in a normal club once a week where you go not to dance. I just wonder that there might be neough people who enjoy going out and drinking and socialising' date=' but once a week or so feel like going out without the dancing. So I'd rather be chilling on a sofa listening to an untitled Sigur Rs track with a cheep pint of Exodus Tennents or something.you are officially a cunt if you don't like Honest MistakeI am officially a cunt. Although i don't think listening to music like Sigur Ros should be a social event unless live. For me just listening to music is a personal thing I prefer to do on my own, but dancing to it is a social thing. I wouldn't like people talking over music that i'm trying to listen to. But that's just me.I am officially a cunt.Admittance is the first step.

If not i suggest you get there tomorrow night and check it out, sounds exactly like what you are describing, only difference being that it's open and doing what you want it to do three/four/five nights a week (depending on if it's the start of the month and the students are back). less_than_stu
Admittance is the first step. What's the second?Good point about the 'non-social-event' thing though.

[/quote']Nope. Been to Moshulu twice. Once for Eric Euan, once for Hell is For Heroes. Going again on the 12th to see Reel Big Fish. But I've never been to a club night. I'll try and check it out htough.
