Dizzy Storm
mighty mighty LOAD RECORDS...home of Lightning Bolt, Arab on Radar, Noxagt...USAISAMONSTER is a brilliantly fried two-piece guitar and drums band hailing from Brooklyn, NY. The band has roved the planet with instruments strapped to their backs playing the tops of mountains, skin-melting deserts, and rusted out America. The band has trekked across Europe, America (too many times to count), and Mexico. This duo walk a tightrope between melted rock, gentle sounds, and psych destruction!! one minute going balls out, the next massaging your cortex....both members of BLACK ELF SPEAKS on Bulb Records and preparing to tour with labelmates Lightning Bolt and Friends Forever...Think astral plane hitchhikers like MEAT PUPPETS and SABBATH in the same mental fart as LOAD two piece terrorists! http://www.loadrecords.com/bands/usaisamonster.htmlRIOTMEN- Riotmen are from Milton Keynes, and are a loud punk rock band, influenced by Shellac, Jesus Lizard, Don caballero, Fugazi, the Ex, Big Black, sonic youth etc... their stage shows are really energetic, with guitars and bodies flying all over the place, a Dirge of filthy riffs, weird time signatures and turbulent rhythm to back it. they promise not to disappoint! www.myspace.com/riotmen local support tbcMON 12TH SEPTvenue tbcwatch this space

Dizzy Storm
from artrocker.comUSAISAMONSTER, The Glasshouse Gallery, Brooklyn, NY 19/4/05Colin and Tom are USAISAMONSTER, a Brooklyn based duo that you probably havent heard of or seen before. In fact sometimes their gig posters dont even mention the date they will be playing. pure artrock! They are part of what seems to be the few remaining musicians in New York that just dont seem to play with a prepackaged idea of getting famous. They dont rehash past eras, nor do they make big budget MTV videos. They definitely dont have anything in common with the other acts associated with the New York music "scene" in the media over the past few years. They are just two guys that play music in their t-shirts and jeans. They play their music from the heart. The Glasshouse Gallery is a hole in the wall space, tucked away in Williamsburg, Brooklyns South side. They set up their drum kit and amps right in the midst of us and began the set with a 5 minute bagpipe- like horn riff that seemed to resonate like a pre-battle call to war. The next 4 songs( one of which they stated had been written just hours prior to this performance) were a chaotic and aggressive barrage of HEAVY sweaty hard rock that pulled influence from prog, punk and full on cathartic death metal at moments. They even dabbled in such obscurities like their own version of a Native American chant. Then came an interlude from the sheer volume of it all; they exchanged their electric guitar and drums for acoustic mini guitars and what looked like a homemade melon-shaped instrument to take us on an enchanting unplugged psyched-out trip. Although they got fed up with a few technical difficulties and proclaimed; "These guitars sound like shit! those few minutes proved their worth as versatile musicians with a lighter side. To everyone's satisfaction, they plugged back in for an encore of their version of electrifying way-left of center rock music. Then they joined the rest of us for another beer. To hear songs their release on Load Records,Tasheyana Compost, such as; "Crumble", "Anal Lies" and " Jaml Abdul Abdul kebab".please go here: www.loadrecords.com/bands/usaisamonster.htm
Dizzy Storm
what about these couple of quotes....!'USAISAMONSTER are unbelievable awesomeness - yeah, in the Lightning Bolt vein but with Southern charm and great spazzed out Zeppelinized prog punk chops - induces sweat and involuntary swaying..' 'Crawling out of the same petri dish thats spawned put-on-a-helmet-and-drool-bucket rock like Lightning Bolt, Usaisamonsters multi-clawed attack chomps you with prog, punk, Sabbath/Zeppelin riffs, and spaz-thrash.. Sweaty & trancendent...
