Guest Zeenat Aman
After clicking the link to their site through one of Rico's posts, I was very very impressed by the musicianship and fresh sound of this band.A good blend of various styles, always musically interesting, check them out here: http://www.aubl.net/ghostofbongo/main.htmI believe their next gig is at the moorings on the 2nd of April!?Lester Burnham doesn't like em so they must be good!!! Guest Zeenat Aman
I'm not feeling the vocals either. A few lessons in breathing control and phrasing might do the trick.First Chromeo' date=' now this lot...slap-bass is back![/quote']Yeah I agree, a few lessons would be good for him... I hate slap bass, but for some reason it works without being too flashy and in your face, as is the usual thing with slap.

Guest AmbientMood
I think the singer is great, as is the bassist playing is tasteful. Seems they could use a better guitarist though. Its very Faith No More 'Real Thing' era. The keyboard sound in the first song reminds me of Stevie Wonder. palmer_eldritch
I think Ghost of bongo are pretty much perfect as a band. I've only seen them once at the moorings and they were brilliant. Really pissed off that i keep missing them these days...

Chris
Can't stand Ghost of Bongo. Saw them two weeks in a row in the Tunnels and then, by sheer bad luck, in Drummonds the week after. They just do absolutely nothing for me except bore me to tears. Good musicians but I just don't like the music at all.
threeornothing
I've seen them a couple of times at Moorings...not totally my thing but good for a drunken night out, and the keyboard player is great, agree with the "stevie wonder sound" comparison above!! Rhodes baby!
AKMartin
I think they're great, especially live. Their guitarist and drummer are shit-hot. And they have a very eclectic groove./two cents.AKM
