  1. Fuck that shit. Do you buy your own teabags and coffee? More hassle than it's worth - syndicates of people chipping in for teabags that nobody else is allowed to use and all that. I would just give up tea.
  2. Yeah - if you look at West Ham as standalone, it's just a game against West Ham, but it's "must-win" really because if they don't win, how confident will they be going into the City game? At least something can be taken from turning around the CL tie and then following up with an away win against the might of Andy Carroll. Whereas, in confidence terms, the CL tie will mean nowt if they don't win tomorrow. Obviously, everything I've just said will be shite if they beat West Ham and then lose to City. That will kill any confidence from the previous two games. I've a feeling that tomorrow will either be the end of the season or the start of a run. They'll probably now either gub West Ham and get beat 7-0 by City, or get beat 7-0 by West Ham (7 Andy Carroll headers) and then hammer City.
  3. That's terrible. Who pays you to take a shit??
  4. Tomorrow vs West Ham is United's most important game of the season. If they win, I can see a bit of momentum coming. If they don't win. Season over and they'll go into the CL Quarter final low on confidence and get absolutely torn apart and they won't even make the Europa League places come the end of the season. Maybe.
  5. I didn't think RVP's injury looked bad at all. Looked like a dead leg type of thing. At first, I thought he was rolling about wasting time, but the replay showed he took a knee to the back of his leg just above the knee. Can't imagine it's anything worse than a bruised muscle or something. I'm sure he'll be back pretty quickly.
  6. Does anyone else actively watch running when it's on the telly? I've got right into it in the past year or so. I've always enjoyed watching the Olympics and such like when it's on, but found the longer stuff a bit boring. I watched a couple of marathons last year and try to seek out any athletics / events that I can. GNR where Farah just about beat Bekele on the line was a great watch. Watched the New York HM on Sunday - disappointing in a lot of ways for Farah after getting tripped at about 6 miles, but some run from him to run down second place. Looking forward to watching the London Marathon to see if Farah can make the step up and compete with Mutai, Kipsang and Kiprotech over that distance. Should be good.
  7. Really. Not because I think Man United can beat Chelsea over two legs, but I just think they have more chance of doing it against a team they know well and be familiar with etc. The downside of getting Chelsea of course could be that if Chelsea run riot against them over two legs, it would feel worse than say, Atletico Madrid running riot against them over two legs. Against Chelsea, for some reason though, I think there's always a chance they could do what Liverpool did to Chelsea all those years ago in the CL and somehow sneak a win. The game would be huge for Man United, and they have experienced players in there with an awful lot to prove. That all said - I think they'll get humped by whoever they play.
  8. The best draw United could get is Chelsea I would say.
  9. It is possible that they could win the Champions League. If all the other teams' players all get broken legs this weekend. The line up for the QF is strong - can't really see United beating any of them over 2 legs.
  10. I'm willing to bet 50p that West Ham win 1-0 and Andy Carroll scores the goal.
  11. I think a 1-0 defeat to West Ham at the weekend will stop all talk of a turnaround.
  12. Rooney's penalty hitting the net on freeze frame?
  13. Did you wear your shinpads when you watched it back?
  14. Absolutely - best game I've seen from Anderson for some time. He was very assured. So unlucky that his volley wasn't just an inch or so to the right...
  15. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2013/jul/28/gilford-park-celtic-nation-kevin-lynch That article pretty much says that it is being set up as the Celtic FC of English football - it even calls Frank Lynch a "die-hard Celtic fan".
  16. Quite interesting actually. Perhaps there is no direct connection to Celtic, but the green and white hoops and the "look" and name etc. could just be a ploy (a fairly blatant one) to get Celtic fans to make this their English club. Or something. They won't get fans of any other Scottish club following them with a name and strip like that, so he's putting all his eggs in one basket really.
  17. http://www.celticnation.com I hadn't seen this before. Apparently there's no connection to Glasgow Celtic but it looks very connected... Green and white hoops, very similar badge, similar name, Willie McStay is manager (apparently on a decent wage for the level they're at). Looks to me like Celtic buying their way through the lower leagues in England to get a foothold.
  18. Slugs. Fuck off you horrible little bastards. I have a sort of "phobia" of the slimy little cunts, but in that I just don't like the look of them. Or so I thought. Last night, I was filling up my wood pellet boiler out in the shed and felt something on my hand - looked down and it was a tiny little slug on my hand. I freaked out and had to go inside to wash the fuck out of my hands about 5 times. I was uptight for about an hour and a half afterwards. Turns out the phobia is a real thing. I'm getting a bit hot under the collar just typing this, so I'll stop.
  19. I have an irrational hatred of Liverpool FC, but even I have warmed to them a bit this season. There's been far less of the ridiculousness of a couple of seasons ago and lots of dishing out absolute spankings to good sides. I can't help but admire what Rodgers has done this season. As for Man United last night. I had a feeling they were going to do it - I don't know why. I read an article where Evra was saying France turned around a 2-0 tie against Ukraine last year and the players are ready for the battle etc. and I just thought it was going to be their night. Switched on the TV just after half time to find them 2-0 up and they looked to be going for it. Rooney looked like the Rooney of that season when he scored about 500 goals. It should be a turning point for them, but I don't think it will be. Backs firmly against the wall and no other option than to absolutely go for broke last night. Away to West Ham at the weekend - a game they should win and they should be brimming with confidence, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if they're brought down to earth with a thud by Andy Fucking Carroll.
  20. It's great watching the likes of Barca knocking the ball around and creating space from nothing, working their way up the pitch etc. and keeping the ball for 5000 passes in a row, but sometimes it's so much more exciting to watch a team who just break at the speed of light and rip defences apart in a split second.
  21. No - her first instinct wouldn't have been to post on FB, but the frequency that these posts used to fill up my newsfeed you wouldn't have been that unreasonable to imagine her picking up her mobile to phone a doctor but quickly updating her FB first or her updating her FB whilst en route to the hospital or something. It's just constant attention seeking that is all over FB. My cousin is a lovely girl in real life - just an annoying cunt on FB. And yes - I agree re: the raising of awareness. It does no harm to post a selfie or whatever if it raises awareness, and it does no harm if doesn't raise awareness actually. It's just another inane FB post. I'm just questioning whether an awful lot of those that do post the selfies are actually doing it because they genuinely want to raise awareness or if it's because they don't want to be the one that isn't raising awareness or they want to be seen to raise awareness with such a selfless act as not wearing make up in a photo. You know what I mean I'm sure. That's not to take away from anyone who has lost a family member or is battling with it themselves. I can't actually relate to that as I've never been through it so I would never question their actions on such matters because it really isn't fair to do so.
  22. Yeah - reckon I'll do it in under an hour and break the course record. Piece of piss.
