  1. With HMV shutting down would there not be a need for 1 UP to stay open ?
  2. A big thanks also to the other two on the bill. Steve and Craig both added to a great night's entertainment.
  3. Will the showcases still be going ahead, now that the plug has been pulled on the festival ?
  4. As far as I am aware, there will be NO CAMPING at Seaton. I think that the Uni halls will be open for overnight sleeping ( Hillhead ? ) I have never heard of half of the groups but I will be there. The local artists stage will be a good place to start, before having a look / listen to what else is on.
  5. I'm with you there Chris. A fine evening all round, in a venue that I like. Seas, Starry had a C.D. waiting for me with 8 tracks on it. Great stuff. Thanks Jan.
  6. Yes please. Although I would never swap my Matricarians / Kitchen Cynic ones for anything ! (except money).
  7. No apology is needed, I perfectly understood the situation. I was sorry to have missed the show, although I did catch Son's brilliant version of 'King Bee' before I was asked to leave ! Hope to be at your next booking. (As long as it's not at Musa when the kitchen is open !)
  8. Any times for this one ? That other great blues guitarist, Stefan Kocemba of Papa Mojo is at the Globe, but does not kick off until 10 ish. Have I any hope of listening to you, Son and Kos ??
  9. Went into One Up this morning with my virginal 'Haight Ashbury' ticket, and was given a full refund, INCLUDING the booking fee. No questions asked, and not the slightest protest from the lad at the counter. Well done One Up.
  10. Just bought a copy this morning. I like ALL the tracks ! For only 3 this must be the best value C.D. of the year. Well done Alan, and thanks for the work you must have put in to produce this gem.
  11. A brilliant evening, being entertained by three first class artists.
  12. He won't have to, as I am sure that One Up will refund the cost. Is it this Friday at the old Clubhouse for your own gig ?
  13. It's not your fault Alan. I was looking forward to your performance there, because you seem to keep you best for Drummonds ! ( The 'fairwell' show was out of this world!) If we had known earlier we could have tried the Tilted Wig or some other 'live' venue. The Lemon Tree tomorrow is still on is it ?
  14. Went along to this, had a couple of drinks. My brother turned up, another couple of drinks. Asked the doorman, who had come inside to warm up his hands, when the show starts. "What show ?" says he. "That was called off earlier in the day." Fair enough, but there were posters, and the 'blackboard', still advertising the gig. Could someone at Drummonds not written 'OFF' on the board ? Perhaps one of the bar staff might have said something ? Then we might have had time to move somewhere else for some live music. Since I had bought a ticket the day before, I assume that One Up will give me my money back ? (Including the 50p 'booking fee' )
  15. Don't know much about Fenders and such, don't know what a steelmaster is for. But what I do know is that I enjoy being entertained by live music. And entertained I was. Thanks lads (and Nina) for a very enjoyable Sunday night. I even liked the 'bar room brawl' that took place outside the front door !
  16. Did the Clubhouse not change it's name some time ago to the Great Western Hotel ?
  17. Will there be any acts on before you, or is 10 when the action starts ?
  18. Pity that Nathan could not make it, but it was still a very entertaining night. Ashley played a great set. Alan was, well, Alan, brilliant as usual. Nice work on the zither !, and the medley of songs worked well. The lassie drummer with Kogumaza introduced me to a new type of rhythm which I enjoyed, and I would go to see them again. Only downer was the pathetically small crowd. Did it reach double figures ?
