Been playing tom Clancys wildlands, in ways it's good in ways it's not.

    Pros;

    graphics

    storyline is great, really interactive

    cons

    servers are crap

story line although great and fairly cunning is quite repetitive I feel they could've done more with it.

The new dlc "narco road" is a bit far fetched and had a few glitchy moments when enemies are invincible.

A bit like division, all the side missions are the same kind of let's steal something and give it to the rebels sort of theme like division it's collecting intel and stashes all the time.

I played the beta of that. Didn't like it. for the size of the map and the amount you'll be driving around, the vehicles handled like absolute shit.

  2. Who will pay my college tuition fees?

Away to college to do HND sound production. SAAS won't fund it because I've had 2 years at a HN level already (HNC/HND Electrical Engineering). I was told as long as I didn't get the qualification then I'm okay to get funded for this new HN level course. But then no, apparently that's just a blanket statement they send out. I dropped out 3 days after the cut-off, so they've classed it as a years funding. They do 2+1. But I won't get my +1 year funding until the second year of this HND. So I'm stumped for funding for the first year. They won't switch it round and fund the first year (giving me time to save for the second) and I'm currently on ESA benefits. What do I do?

  3. The entire episode of Always Sunny entitled "Hero or Hate Crime?" was about this very predicament.

I'm with Kirsten, do something nice for the office. Hell, maybe even buy a fancy coffee machine or new radio or something like that too. Sucks to hear she might have caved though.

people who are incapable of being on time. so many people i know are so habituqally late that ive started telling them our plans are 30 mins earlier than they actually are.. and theyre STILL late! ABSOLUTE CUNTS

I used to be late to one of my jobs quite often. buses. I could have got an earlier bus. but I would have been there 45 mins early with no overtime. Sack that. What's worse is they would enact a "15 for every 5" rule. meaning if I was only 5 mins late due to the buses, I'd have to stay 15 mins at night. So, either turn up 45 mins early and not get paid for it, or stay 15 mins late and not get paid for it. It was quite obvious what the choice would be.

  5. So I start HND Sound Production in August. Over the next two years I'm wanting to build up my home studio.

What gear is best bang for the buck? What's an essential bit of kit that won't break the bank? Are there things I should save up for and just do without instead getting a cheap version? Let me know!

So far I'm looking in to getting:

    Focusrite Scarlett

    KRK Rokits

    Headphones (?)

    I think I'll need:

Pro Tools (not overly. but this is what I'll be using in college. Be good to get some practice at home.) I saw they do a subscription service. 30 quid a month seems not too bad. Considering some packages are a grand outright for a perpetual lisence.  I tried to look in to it but I got confused. Is Pro Tools HD what I really need? Or can I get the vanilla version?

A USB hub. Anyone know decent ones that won't cause too much lag? Macbooks only have 2 USB ports. Or should I look at getting thunderbolt stuff over USB?

This will definitely be a slow process, and I've probably missed out some gear/software. But I'm just wanting to get shit in order so I can slowly but surely start acquiring gear/saving for gear.

You probably won't be able to get one for a reasonable price anymore, but Henry Rollins' Get In The Van is great too. There might be an ebook/scan of it knocking about.

If you have even the slightest interest in NOFX, I'd highly recommend their recent book, Hepatitis Bathtub. Some pretty brutal tales about what the early LA punk scene was like, among other stuff. When you finish it, you'll be amazed that somehow they're not all dead.

For UK Punk, I've not ready any books about the more mainstream '77 stuff, but this is a good read about the 1980-84 Anarcho Punk scene:

Cheers. I've heard good things about Get In The Van but never been able to find a copy for a decent price. I'll have a look at getting the other ones you recommended.

  7. Been listening to a lot of Podcasts recently about Scientology. Going Clear and Ron Miscavaige's books the best ones to read?

Any other books along the lines of going clear about other religions?

Also, anyone got any recommendations for books on the following subjects:

    UK Punk

    US Punk (black flag etc)

    Hip-hop/gangster rap

    LAPD racism

They are cool, I prefer modern life over dead swans, I'm kind of aiming to do something that's less about breakdowns and being "heavy" and more about being energetic and "emotional" and all that.

That sounds cool, gimme a message

Seems to be an epidemic of bicycle theft at the moment. Dunno if it's just with the popularity in cycling recently people are buying more expensive bikes and therefore attracting thieves. It's a massive issue in Poland. You re taking a risk locking your bike up anywhere. I saw a guy steal one one day, he spotted the bike, pulled a massive bolt cutters out of his bag, was through the lock and  cycling off in ten seconds. That was on a main road in broad daylight. It's so easy for them.

If you you like Fubar News on facebook you'll see Aberdeen is in the middle of a complete city-wide crime spree and also loads of dogs are going missing right now. And traffic is the most mental it's ever been. and everywhere's flooded.

probably a Lights or Chvrches song or something. She's been hanging around with them lot lately.

  11. If this is anything to go by, I'm going to really enjoy the new Paramore album.

And so begins falling in love with someone who I don't even know again. Fucking hell. I only just finished the office and haven't gotten over Jenna Fischer yet.

I've since heard this. And yeah that's pretty much exactly what happened. I was chilling watching Sister Act 2, nibbling on brownies, they weren't doing anything, "must be shite" I thought, and ate more. Then it all hit me at once and I got ultra mega paranoid, kind of hallucinatey. It was shite. Tbh the reason I stopped in the first place was because it was having this effect on me, getting super crazy paranoidz, disappear into myself, no fun at all. Then there's the fact that I hadn't touched it in 10 years so my tolerance was 0 and I went straight to Amsterdam level weed. Bad move.

Was watching a Joe Rogan podcast. He (and Joey Diaz) are all about edibles. He described the same experience but actually enjoys it. He said it's good to once in a while let yourself be vulnerable and get really introspective. You're all paranoid then when you come out the other side you realise it really was all in your head and all your anxieties and worries seem more abstract. Wouldn't like to have that feeling myself though, but I can see why someone would enjoy it. Plus, them being in california I guess the paranoia isn't exactly "shit i hope i don't get caught" kind of paranoia that I assume would plague most people over this side of the pond.

I haven't touched a joint in over 10 years, ate some brownies one night before bed and then freaked out and had a horrible time. Don't do that.

That was probably the problem. It takes longer to kick in. You could be waiting an hour for a brownie to kick in. A lot of people tend to eat more in that time and end up far higher than they wanted to be. Also it reacts differently when cooked/eaten. A lot of people say it gets you higher.

And just the general "I can't even" can do one.

You "can't even" what? Are you so bad at "adulting" that you can't finish sentences?

Working at a college, the amount of times I overhear yoofs using the word "literally" when what they're saying is definitely not literal. It's nearly every sentence.

These young 'uns don't speak right good.
