  1. Its a total joke - I wouldn't be happy either if I was in that position. It used to grind my gears in my younger days. I wouldn't care when I left I found my passport in my bag which has a more recent photo of me, so will have to use it more if security guards aren't going to take it seriously. I usually find getting ID'd funny or take it as a compliment but not by a powertripping security guard in the middle of a supermarket before I'd even picked it up haha
  2. Damn Security guard in Sainsburys Garthdee today ... I was casually looking at the drinks shelf cos I need drink for tomorrow night when the security guard approached me and asked whether I was on my own or in a group. He then asked for my ID and starting questioning how old I was from it, peered at my photo as if it was fake - okay it was taken 6 years ago, I was standing there going "That IS my ID, that IS me in the photo - I'm 23, I've got my University graduation this Thursday" He then turned round and said "I know that ID is genuine but you don't look 23, you look 12" GRRRRR. So not amused! What was worse when I bought my drink, I got carded by a guy who was clearly underage! Not impressed, defo not going back!
  3. I'm taking lessons with Roadwise just now - got a guy called Bob ... he's okay ... begins to try and push you forward after the 4th lesson but generally a good enough guy. If you're a girl and if you think you'll be a nervous driver I would recommend a female instructor, I'm beginning to wish I got a female instructor cos I had one before who was ace.
  4. Last Friday, I missed the first 21 to Cove because it came 10 minutes early, went outside and stood around for 20 minutes when the 21 to Altens came, decided I'd jump on it and get off at Wellington Road because that was what it did the other week, no it went straight into Altens and I almost had a hairy fit at the driver, telling him to let me know the nearest stop to the Thistle was. I got off and as I was walking down the road a 3 and a 21 went past and when I was walking down towards the bus stop not long after another 21 came. Totally shocking! On Monday, the 21 didn't run from 3 onwards, I was almost late for work because of it. Got fed up waiting and asked the driver of a 17 if the 21 was running, he just said "I've not seen any so I don't know". At that a granny came off the bus and told me she'd been waiting for 2 hours uptown for a 21. I went inside and by luck by brother gave me a lift out to work because my work have the attitude that it isn't their problem the buses aren't running and won't get off their backsides to come and pick you up and the next of it is you're getting verbal warnings. knobs. So if the strike's called off, does that mean all the buses are back to normal now?, since they decided to work to rule a few days ago and only run buses when they felt like it. got a night out tomorrow and don't fancy freezing at the bus stop.
  5. I dealt with Bon Accord Property Management when I was renting my flat. I'd say the guy that ran the agency was helpful enough, just a bit disorganised. The guy that I was renting the flat from tho, was a money grabber - I've never received my deposit back, he worked on a short-assured tenancy which meant I couldn't get out of it, meaning I'd to pay rent even when I wasn't living there, he refused to help me get another flatmate in, then went on to charge me for the fact my old flatmates hadn't cut the grass after I'd moved out, had the cheek to charge 250 a month when the place wasn't even tenantable and went on to put it up to 300 when we moved out. Still doing nothing to the place cos one of my old friends when on to live there and said the flat was a state! We found that house through citylets.com
  6. i've always called it chipper. I'm working we some glaswegians just now and its 'chippie'. I've started picking up on their lingo like. Really good chippy: The Golden Fry in Kincorth. They do battered mars bars, yum.
  7. Haha, trust me to find out 2 days later tickets go on sale that they're coming. Well, well nevermind ... the hunt for tickets starts here! Thanks mate.
  8. Has this sold out or are the tickets not on sale yet? Was up late after doing a ten hour shift last nite and couldn't find any tickets on Ticketmaster so just wondered if I'm being a spazz as usual.
  9. Catatonia - Stone By Stone ... she had her moments of dipping into her lilt there ...
  10. I wasn't struck on the tune/background music to begin with and then I heard the lyrics/accent I thought I don't like the lyrics and the accent just put me off. Just didn't like it I guess.
  11. I'm not a fan of Glasvegas, did get it wrong on Geraldine tho because that is a tune. Think my problems started with Glasvegas when I heard the opening lines of Daddy's Gone and as soon as the really strong accent came through I thought ........ Nah, don't like this!
  12. Rents are mental ... I used to rent up in Garthdee, the house wasn't impressive, we were 1000 a month for a 4 bed, that was back in 2006, when we all moved out, the rent went up to 1200. God knows what he's asking for it now but I'd defo say its not worth it. I'm now only 150 a month cos its a private rent to my parents, surprised they've not tried to whack it up tho hahaha!
  13. Totally agree, defo brightened my night up a few weeks back when we left cos one of the clubs we were at were playing absolute pish. Cheap nights entertainment in a bag if you like. Personally I thought they were pretty good and did get some decent banter there, it is simple if you don't like it, you don't have to listen to it and at the end of the day there is a pavement at the other side of the street you can walk up ... there's plenty of traffic lights!
  14. aye they do the Stone Roses, bit of Oasis and Snow Patrol etc ...
  15. Anyone know what they're called? They play outside the Trinity Centre most Saturday nights.
  16. I seem to remember going to view a flat with my parentals about 2 and a half year ago in Froghall, my parents were picky as hell anyway so as soon as they saw the state of the cars on the street, dodgy junkie hanging about and the fact there was metal fences all round the back, they called up the owner and said they were stuck in traffic and couldn't make it ... I was glad cos I hadn't a clue what I wanted to do for accommodation the next year at uni anyway and was reluctant to give up my Sunday to view a flat I didn't really want in the first place. I know stay in Kincorth, I've had no trouble so far and lived here almost a year. Don't think there's many student lets about here tho as its not really a studenty area ... yet.
  17. Aye I thought they were magic, was chuffed to bits they finished their set off with Donald In The Bushes With A Bag of Glue, wouldn't have been the same if they finished on Public Park. They played a good variation of their music from the early stuff to the newer stuff, think the early stuff will always be a favourite of mine. Yeah they are a bit, there's a lot of hype on Glasvegas at the moment and when I heard the closing verse of Geraldine, all I thought was Ballboy with a bit of bass ... Personally, I'm not big on Glasvegas like, think Geraldine is the only song I like!
  18. I was at this gig and it was naeee bad, I must say. Been into Ballboy now for a few years and wasn't disappointed, I do reckon I was some of the youngest there tho. I was more disappointed in myself for nursing a killer hangover and forced myself to sit at the back 'just in case'.
  19. Cheers guys! Was wanting to know if they'd be worth going home 54 miles to see ... cheers, think the shapecutting will be commencing to them on saturday nite I think. Its been BIRO (Black Isle Rock Orchestra) or the local band Cover 2 Cover for the last while so change could be good! I'm not working and no one seems to be giving me any plans for town so homeward bound I shall head!
  20. Ah right, seems to be a lot of speak about origin, never really went to Kef tho, always thought I'd hate it so I never really bothered with it (sounds pretty shocking given there's always been good reports about it). I think Kode is more orientated towards dance music, don't think its for me somehow
  21. Anyone heard of a band called Pie Shop? They're playing back in my hometown next weekend and was just wondering if its worth the bus fare to go home?
  22. I used to really like Moshulu but we're going back about 2 years, now I just hate it! Fridays are awful, the music just goes on and on and on and I just can't have a good nite to it. don't really want to venture in there again, hearing its got a refurb makes me wanna check it out but why pay out 4 on a friday for a crap night?! Started going to exo again after months of my friends dragging me to moshulu and the priory (where I went kicking and screaming and against my own will but it was that or go home), have to say I still love exo. I know a lot of people have been speaking about Origin and Kode (sp?), are they decent or should I stick to exodus?
