  1. Looking for a standard/programmable sansamp bass driver. Anyone happen to be selling one? Cheers
  2. Yeah, it's an Ampeg SVT-4 pro I play. "Best bass heads" is a mis-leading title, as if you play what could be considered as a top end head like my one, through a terrible cab, you'll still get a poor sound. Also, such things as drivers and pre-amps can define and upgrade the tone of almost any head. Especially in a solid-state head in which you lack the 'warmth' you get from tube amp heads. But following on from what Dan was saying, playing great gear gives you a boost of confidence on stage if you have confidence in your sound, and are happy with the bands sound overall. But in some cases, if one or two members have great gear and one player plays through mince, you can only really sound as good as your worst guitar sound.
  3. The idea of endoresments is for discount prices in exchange for promotion of the company. However, who those interested, some amplification companies will lend you a head for a tour, but you have to pay to send it back after the tour is finished. Usually just on the website dude,
  4. Ernie Ball Music Man Stingray V HH > Ampeg SVT-4 Pro > Ampeg STV-610hlf. Also have Korg DTR1000 rackmount tuner in my rig, and will soon be buying a Samson wireless system if a Sansamp RBI rackmount bass driver doesn't tickle my fancy too much by the time I have the cash available.
  5. For all those critisising the mix, Nathan am I write in saying that the version on your myspace isn't the final mix/mastering?
  6. By naming scholey explains the drum sound. He has a knack of over-triggering the drums for bands such as asd.
  7. Depends who you want to get endorsed by. Generally speaking, companies want a description of your band and what you have done, and plan to achieve. They will want promo shots of you sporting your gear both live and professional shoots. They want to know what gear or discounts you want from them. And they want to know you are the right person to endorse by putting accross a great attitude to their company etc etc. You can usually find a link for endorsments on the companies websites.
  8. Okay well, I have no use for a Bseries head as I own a SVT-4, so hopefully we'll be willing to sell the 6x10 seperatly. However, that ad has been up for months, so I was unsure if it would still be available - can anybody confirm it is? Cheers
  9. I know these things aren't particularly common in Aberdeen or easy to transport, but I am after one none the less. Looking to pay up to around 600, and have a van so could travel around Scotland to collect it. If anyone has one for sale, or knows of one for sale, please hook me up. Cheers!
  10. Sorry dude, it's finally gone for 400!
  11. "The JH-1 Jackhammer is the ultimate overdrive/distortion pedal. It allows you to recreate that classic overdriven Marshall sound or go to the extreme aggressive distortion of modern heavy rock. The unit features an incredible six controls and two modes that allow you to tailor your distortion sound to pretty much anything your heart desires." It's barely used, in perfect condition quite literally. R.R.P is 50 odd, but I'm just looking for 20 for my one.
  12. Still available and needing to go.
  13. Gibson SG Special in Ebony for sale. SG fit Hardcase also available. A couple years old, and in perfect condition. Has rarely been played in the past twelve months due to me primarily focusing on playing bass and now wish to sell this guitar to gain funds for an Ampeg 6x10. Roughly 850 new for guitar, and 100 for the hardcase, but selling guitar for around 400 and an extra 50 for the hardcase. Will restring with any strings you desire under 10 a pack. Can also supply photos if required.
  14. Best 3 Bands heard this year for the first time - Johnny Foreigner, White Lies, The Wave Pictures. Best gigs this year - BSP @ ABC, Hot Chip @ The Forum, Errors @ Snafu, Foo Fighters with Led Zeppelin @ Wembley, Misery Signals @ Ivory Blacks. Best Releases of 2008 - Wild Beasts - Limbo, Panto, British Sea Power - Do You Like Rock Music?, The National - The Virginia EP / A Skin A Night, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Dig, Lazurus, Copy Haho - You Are My Coal Mine 7" Best Result of the Year - Arsenal 2 Manchester United 1 (November 8th) Best Purchase of the year - Ampeg SVT-4 Pro. YAS MINs of the year - Band getting a proper demo recorded and getting a lot of positive feedback through it, and interest from minor record companies. And the new James Bond movie. Biggest Dissapointment - The amount of shite bands that have popped up in Aberdeen. Looking forward to 2009 - Beirut's next album. Overall - 2008 has been an improvement on 2007.
  15. Wild Beasts are the second support band. Bloody Excellent!
  16. "An Evening of Hardcore." Sunset Squad are the only Hardcore band on the bill as far as I can see.
  17. It's a condition called 'Objectophilia' Objectophilia is a sexual and romantic obsession with any certain inanimate object. One woman was "married" to the twin towers and committed suicide after they were destroyed.
  18. First of all, in Karl's defense, he had a very tough time filling in after Jesse left. Malice and Magnum Heart is a very good album. But Devin Townsend has done well to bring back the double vocal trick which was used on Malice.. and the vocals are a good improvement on the Mirrors. However, I don't think you can ignore MS just due to the vocalist - the music is excellent, and to be honest, with some of the vocalists that are out there today, and the style of vocalists that are creating utter shite ('bree'ing" etc) he isn't half as bad as you may think. The term 'Metalcore' is being thrown around too much. Almost as much as the generalisation of 'emo'. MS are a top quality Metalcore band in truth, but to condemn them because people class shite bands as Metalcore too is just silly. And considering them 'generic' doesn't make sense to me either. And with no proper points to back your generic claims, I think you may just hate metalcore rather than caring about listening to MS.
  19. But regardless who is right or wrong, I hope those kids get what is coming to them after their horrendous actions.
  20. Just because two seventeen year olds are being charged, doesn't mean that two seventeen year olds were on the bike. If you read the other replies, you'll see that most people saw two younger boys on the back of the bike, both without helmets. I presume they are injured. I don't know why two seventeen year olds are being charged, I'll guess one was the driver and the second was closely involved, or it's helped to steal the bike or something along those lines. And you maybe it was one on the back, an older guy that just looked a lot younger. You can still get injured and get charged for your crimes surely?
  21. My friend knew the three boys that were on the bike. (Don't ask how, because I really don't want to know myself.) Anyways, she has told me that one of the boys is in a coma, and another has a broken back. What goes around comes around it seems.
