A friend of mine got a drink poured over her in a student union in the early 90s when she went up to a guy wearing an Electronic tshirt and sang "I've been liking crap bands, all my life - getting away with it." Bit harsh I thought. No mention of True Faith? Or John Barnes' "rapping"?
Well this thread prompted me to have a look at Jim's entry on wiki, didn't realise this: Upside down plane stunts, rock and roll man. Even Bruce Dickinson wouldn't try that sort of stuff.
It's not like this isn ordinary world tour, it's a total one-off for one of the most popularbands ever that hasn't played for 30 years or something. Given those circumstances, I would say 125 isn't too shabby, especially when you hear of the likes of Barbara Striesand charging 500 or something.
Supply and demand my friend, they will charge as much as they think people will pay. Remember that your Meat Loaf punter is likely to be in his 30s/40s/50s with a job and decent disposable income and can therefore afford to pay more. I don't know who The Black Crusade are but if their fanbase is made up of students then they are never going to sell out the SECC at 50 a pop. As for Zep, I agree 125 is a lot but probably decent value if you take into account the other acts that are playing as well (assumes you think Paolo Nutini is worth paying to see.) Agree with you on the greatest hits thing, but the simple answer is "Just don't buy it."
I had the Mormons round a couple of years ago. They were very impressed by my in-depth and accurate knowledge of their faith, all of which was gleaned from an episode of South Park. I asked if they were doing the whole street, but they said they had just chosen my house because it was near the bus stop and their bus was due soon. Wasn't Prince a Jehovas Witness for a while? I'm sure I read reports about him turning up at somebody's house, now that would be cool.

Yup, used to go in there all the time when I was a student, a "six of the best" and pot of tea came to a quid or something, then a few fags. Lots of minks though. Nowhere really like that now, maybe BHS?
