  1. I was at this gig! It was ace. Must have been about 12 years ago? Was there with my old man (who I believe must have been working with you at the time). STV cameras showed up I remember.
  2. Cassetteboy videos. It was funny the first time hearing David Cameron say 'I...am...a...cunt' or whatever but really it's just one 'joke' rehashed time and time again.
  3. That was my immediate thought. Bigsby written all over that one. Edit: nope, nae cunt had him!
  4. http://www.cbc.ca/news/arts/obit-merle-haggard-1.3523425 Merle Haggard has gone to the Big City in the sky
  5. depends what speed you get to the house compared to what speed you get trough the router. Ethernet cable to your router, speedtest then speedtest on wifi. If it's the same or similar then a new router isn't going to do much. If you're dropping speed on wifi, then try changing the channel (why this exists i'm not sure). If this doesn't work then a more powerful wifi router may work.

    Weekend

Fri: fuck all mate, fuck all. busy week. Will probably be in bed by 10 Sat: Run, try Tibetan food for the first time, a few drinks Sun: Confront the numbing inevitability of the passage of time as I sidle on into Monday. Also laundry.
  7. Been trying to watch The Americans the last couple of weeks. I say trying - i'm almost finished season 2 and I still feel like i'm not 100% 'in' it. It's so convoluted and they seem to make a big deal out of some plot point one minute and forget about it the next. That said, some of the acting is pretty great - especially when the spies are in their different disguises and there's something about it that keeps me watching. One major character just decides she doesn't want to work with another character and she's never seen again. Then she's replaced with another character who you're never really told about. Basically my GF and I are constantly bugging each other with 'what just happened?' every five minutes. A pretty infuriating watch so hard to recommend - eventhough i'm probably gonna watch all 4 seasons.
  8. Hey Now!... Gary's dead http://www.tmz.com/2016/03/24/garry-shandling-dead/
  9. https://lastpass.com/ I know a lot of people who use last pass. I don't use it myself because I have a good system of including the name of the service in the password and only a few variants of the 'root' password.
  10. That's a haunting lookalike Dick Pics
  11. Cheggers had/has a bit of a mad laugh. I think that and his 'off the cuff'/zany schtick where 'anything can happen' (as long as it doesn't involve anything resembling actual humour or entertainment) were probably what landed him a live kids TV job. Chegwin, Tarant, Schofield, Crane... he comes from a long line of that too old to be desirable, too young to be grandfatherly presenter tradition. They're like your dad's friend who has no kids, drinks non-alcoholic beer and shows up to the company BBQ wearing an apron with a witty slogan on it.
  12. I've listened to just about them all except that one - only because he references the fact it gets really awkward. I hate that cringe feeling.
  13. Bizarre... I'm listening to a Richard herring podcast as I read this. Guest is: Robert Llewelyn.
  14. love how they included 'tributes' from: Keith Chegwin Paul Chuckle Darren Day Reads like a death list
  15. Frank Sinatra Jr. died yesterday but I almost feel he doesn't count. It's scraping the barrel even for us.
  16. Playing a great game a friend suggested called Unravel. A puzzle/platform game where you're a little dude made out of wool and you have to get to the end of the level without running out of... well... yourself. The graphics are amazing. Playing it is a really meditative experience. Highly recommended.

Matt Forte to the Jets for 2 million less than Ivory... He's probably got at least one good season left in him.
  18. Was that the suit aye?
  19. Love me some burger chat. My favourite local burger place is fucking mental. It's kinda hard to describe because 'comic book themed burger bar with free video games and ridiculous burger combos' doesn't do it justice. The food is tasty but really it's the experience of going there that makes it worth it. Initially we thought the guy who owns it has some sort of personality disorder or something because you walk in and there is just stuff and signs and text everywhere. He uses about 50 different fonts on his menu and everything is different sizes. Then the menu itself takes about an hour to read through because there are so many different combos of weird shit put together that sounds kinda nice but utterly insane. I wish I could find a picture of the van he cuts about in - it's like the scrawlings of a serial killer, only typed up in MS Word using comic sans and wing dings in the form of a food menu. They also do an open bar thing where you pay about 15 quid and gorge yourself on boozy milkshakes for 2 hours - which is just plain awesome There's just a schizophrenic/ADHD vibe to the place that overloads you and it seems to attract your classic goth/outsider types only dialed up to 100. Then a couple of weeks ago we happened to be watching 'Mystery Diners' on the food network and up pops the guy. They created this elaborate storyline where the heroine/muse of the comic book he had written was stealing comics from customers and selling them on craigslist. It's one of the most awkward episode of 'reality' TV i've ever seen but just adds to this place's mythic status in my mind. here's an example off the menu: The Wafflenaut Three Belgium waffles, syrup, super action burger, egg, double bacon, cheddar, grilled onions, crushed sweet tots, whipped cream
  20. I've said it before and I'll say it again - brioche buns have no place near a burger. Overrated substitute for a basic bap. brioche on its own is delicious though
  21. Five guys is pretty bog standard and cheap here. Definitely not trendy. Shake shack is another one I'm sure is popping up in the UK now. It's somewhat revered and pretty good. i remember when there was only 1 subway in Scotland in Glasgow. I thought it was the greatest sandwich place on earth back then.
