AGP presents ALL MANKIND Suburban Saints Ross Buchanan Tunnels Fri 3 June 2011 7.30pm 5.00 -------------------- All Mankind have gained a loyal following across the USA, UK, and Australia, having performed over 500 times in the last three years to more than 100,000 fans. The band's live success has led to independent album sales in the thousands and award nominations for songwriting and performance in both Australia and America. In 2008, All Mankind went into the studio with noted ARIA-winning producer David Nicholas (Elton John, Sting), and Peter Mayes (PNAU, Empire of the Sun). The resulting EP earned its way onto the airwaves of such diverse outlets as Indie 103.1FM Los Angeles, WRXP New York, MotorFM Germany, KNRK-FM Portland, OR, and ABC Radio Australia, while also gaining fans such as Mike Walsh, Music Director at the famed Xfm (UK). Songs from the band's follow-up EP (mixed by Grammy-nominated producer Brandon Friesen) continued to have a strong radio reaction, and made their way into a number of prime time US television shows. Next Thursday at Tunnels

Well to be fair there are bands playing from up north as far as Inverness and as far south as Glasgow so fairly reasonable to ask where theyre from. And a fair number come from Aberdeenshire and other surrounding areas. STV are aiming to cover around 10-12 of the showcases. Whilst quality of the acts is going to vary, its great to see people paying attention to whats happening. Unlike the likes of Tbreak when it held heats despite largely knowing who they were going to pick anyway, there is no snobbery in terms of bands. Anyone can apply to play and will be given the same time as anyone else - who knows out of nearly 100 bands playing these showcases there might be a gem or two.
