  10. Cafe Drummond presents TANGO IN THE ATTIC plus support 2 December 2010 - 8pm - 5 Tickets from One Up and on the door 14+ show _____________ Tango In The Attic on Myspace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads "Seven Second Stare has the pop balls to see them competing with Two Door Cinema Club for the hottest new indie band around award, while Sketch By Quentin Blake shows an articulacy behind the bands more obvious jump-on-the-bed enthusiasm." ArtRocker - "This scribe hasnt been to Glenrothes in some years, but either the dreakit Fife town of memory has benefited from significant, localised climate change or Tango in the Attic are simply very good at injecting sunshine into their melodies. Online weather reports confirm the latter." The Skinny - "With everyone on the lookout for there summer 2010 album, Bank Place Locomotive Society by Tango In The Attic for me definitely surpasses the rest of the contenders for this years summer 2010 album." The Giantess - "Tracks like Seven Second Stare and the excellent Leftside stick in the memory long after the initial rush subsides, and you sense listeners will be returning to this record for years to come" I Heart AU "Within ten minutes you will have heard four songs, and these four are uniformly great examples of short-and-sweet pop nuggets Tango In The Attic are nevertheless another fantastic addition to the incredible Scottish scene right now, and definitely have a plenty broad appeal" The Line Of Best Fit - "Tango In The Attic are summer encapsulated, and their debut album Bank Place Locomotive Society is this wonderful season amplified. It has a rigor of creativeness and its quirkiness is wonderfully baffling at times. I cannot recommend this album highly enough." Glasgow Podcart -

  13. Sounds like a fun night all round. Dont really mind paying the extra money (more than you would to see same bands in a normal venue and afterall I pay 25 to go and see football games which are a hell of a lot less entertaining) As soon as I walked in the venue it just felt wrong. Obviously soundchecks were still going on but the atmosphere was pretty poor for having to stand about for so long. Kind of felt like being at a wedding, not a gig, with the table set up etc. Having the tables so far away from the stage didnt really help encourage people forward during sets either. I pretty much love The Deportees and without gushing over then too much, I normally experience a fair amount of "hairs on the back of the neck moments" during their set. Just wasnt right at all throughout this one. Clearly they were still playing well but it frankly sounded terrible. Unfortunately I had dragged a couple of friends along having enthused so much about them but they also felt it was a bit flat, which is certainly not what The Deportees are about. Also pretty annoyed not to get to see Debutant (however understand the reasoning) and had to leave before Meursault due to over running time and having to go to DJ. All in all a massive anti climax. I hadnt been to any of the previous Live at The Beach events and had been looking forward to seeing these bands in a bigger venue with a bigger PA. What it turned out to be was paying 7.50 to see two bands play on a PA more suited to Cellar 35, with shit beer and shit tasting vodka. Guess sometimes these things happen but you would think a venue that size would be able to get around technical problems better than this.
  14. If you missed it last night Jools Holland featured The Vaccines on the show. BBC iPlayer - Later Live... with Jools Holland: Series 37: Episode 8

ARTROCKER "Doll possesses more charisma than several of her (unnamed) pop peers put together, Destined for commercial success but with added indie credibility, Doll and The Kicks are surely on the brink of great things" THE FLY MAG "DATK throw out song after song of infectious danceable anthems, this is one of the only chances you'll get to see DATK's in a small club" CLASH MAG "DATK have grown into contenders ready to stand alone" THE INDEPENDANT NEWSPAPER

  18. It most certainly is mate... "And so it is with great pleasure that we can now announce that the winner of the inaugural Scotsman Radar Prize is French Wives, a Glasgow quintet who make rousing, folk-based indie, the kind of music that links contemporary Scotland majestically with its past. Formed in 2008, they have been adopted as one of their city's best loved bands, and were first featured on Radar in June of last year." Deserved as well in my opinion. They opened at one of our shows last year and blew me away. Can't wait for this gig!
