Also I never do it too look superior in fact your the one trying to look superior by telling me to stop as if your my boss or something. Trying to be superior in a group this small is just sad.
I never told you to stop, I asked you to stop.

FIXED.
I disagree I quite liked the name far better than "The Co-operative Food" now that is a shit name.
Will you please stop going around putting words in people mouths that you feel are appropriate in some juvenile attempt to look superior? Now and again as a joke is fine, but you've been doing it so much lately that it's starting to annoy me to the point where I have (obviously) felt the need to call you on it.
Please lay off the FIXED thing for a while. You haven't fixed anything - you've just pretended that someone agreed with you by modifying what they said.

You do know that I already knew it came from Comedy Central, I was testing you to see if you knew. I watch the channel alot when at home.
I would bloody well hope you knew where you nicked it from. The clues were for other people.

Wait a minute, so the point of this thread is too give stuff away for free and with no charge?

Aww, I was going spin it out with some clues. I was typing my first one when you spilled the beans

FIXED
Petty point scoring has been done already too.

I'm going to blow up Aberdeen Airport if they don't pull their socks up. Oh wait, that one's been done already.

Correct. That Muse gig with Soulwax supporting is still one of the best gigs I've ever been to. Back before they disappeared completely up Matt Bellamy's arse.
I remember that gig. I enjoyed Soulwax more than Muse to be honest. C-A-S-I-O!

Please report back with success/failure as I could really be doing with something similar. 10+ years of playing in loud practice rooms must have done something to my ears. I wonder if I really know what it's like to actually hear stuff.
No drops are going to help you with that, if it's noise exposure related hearing loss you're talking about. All you can do is use earplugs from now on to stop it getting any worse.

Is this a guitarist only thread, or can bassists join in too? Not that my contribution is very exciting - I've got a Boss ODB-3 overdrive pedal, had it for years and never did anything with it, thinking it to be jolly silly and lacking any application in any band I was in. Now that I'm in something a bit more unconventional (no guitar, other instruments capable of filling in the low end if I decide to have a wander up the dusty end (keys/trombone)) I dug it out this week at a band jam. Had a lot of fun with it and formulated a song idea based around some crunchy, overdriven bass stuff.
Don't worry though - like a rabbit I will soon get spooked and jump back into my magic hat when only pure, low notes emanate from

No-one got any GAS for a month? I don't believe that for a second.
I tried to buy a Gibson Grabber 3 70s Tribute bass. Twice. Both were disappointing, the second one disastrously so. It's being picked up on Monday and being returned for a refund.
I'm going to spend my refund on one of these:
I played one in R&B a couple of years ago, thought "meh" and put it back. However, I've always loved the look of it, and I've seen heaps of vids on YouTube of people coaxing great tone out of them so perhaps it was the amp I was having a go through that let it down back then.
Vids of it sounding great (to my ears anyway):

I know what you mean, I'm a Guinness man and I'm tapping out after 4-5 pints and looking for something less ... physically substantial.
Gin? Look for Caorunn http://www.caorunngin.com/ or Blackwood's http://blackwoodsgin.net/. Hendricks is nae bad but there are better out there.
Rum? Angostura 1919 http://www.angostura.com/ is pretty damn nice, and Brugal http://www.brugal-ron.com/ is decent too.
Agreed about some ginger ale for a change of mixer.

Ahh, the classic overpayment scam. Relies on greed overriding common sense.

Aaaaaaaand, sold!

Fuck, someone's getting a stoater of a bargain here! Hope whatever's come up isn't, y'know, awful as fuck.
xx
Thanks for the concern, but don't worry it's nothing bad. Just GAS

Do you want me to leave the forum?
Not that it's any of my business or concern but no, not especially. Despite your occasionally deluded utterances you are capable of meaningful and dare I say it, useful contributions to this forum.

We already have moved on to the next question, keep up.
You've got some brass neck on you, trying to make me look stupid considering the drivel you've been typing recently.

Looking for a good guitar tech to do some work on guitars (electric and acoustic).
Any recommnedations? Aberdeen or stonehaven(ish) would be perfect
Getting this back on topic, Rich Lewis in Bridge of Don. He does anything for me that I can't handle myself. He's done some very tidy electrical work for me (pot replacement on my G&L El Toro, wiring modification on my L-2000 to give single coils) and made a superb bone nut for a Yamaha BB450 that I was restoring.
He also made this:
Look like this:

Do you know a cats "meow" does it really break the sound barrier? If so it could be our ticket to building a time machine.
Pfft, I fart quicker than that. See all that chlorine gas deployed during the Second Battle of Ypres? That was me after a curry last week. Sorry.
Or, stop being stupid. If breaking the sound barrier was all that was required, don't you think we'd be time travelling all over the shop by now?
Fastest manned (because someone has to be on it in order to time travel, I presume) craft:
Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird - Mach 3.3
North American X-15 - Mach 5.925
Space Shuttle (during re-entry) - approx Mach 23
Apollo Command Module - approx Mach 30
AMOUNT OF TIME TRAVEL DONE IN ANY OF THESE CRAFT - ZERO.
Next question.

Would definitely like to come to see it.
When and where?.
I have someone coming to see it this week, if that doesn't work out then I'll be in touch.

Portable Audio Recorders
in Musicians' Corner
Posted
Up until now I've been recording band rehearsals with a number of devices, minidisc recorder with external microphone, various smartphones and video camera (extracting the audio from the video file) and the recordings are ... ok. By ok I mean fine for a reference or an aide memoire, but not excellent. I've decided to pony up and get the right tool for the job, an actual audio recorder.
From my limited looking online, it seems there are two main players - Zoom and Tascam, and from what I've seen I think the Zoom H2n looks like a pretty versatile but not eyewateringly expensive device.
Anyone got any experience with these things or recommendations?
