  1. We're finally get round to another form of release in September time. This is a track from that EP. We still play a shouty emo/post hardcore racket with gammy changes, but have tried to tone down the vox a little bit from our last effort. Ross Middlemiss of Pesioner fame did a great job.

Hopefully there'll be some future updates on releases and things soon.

  2. Here is some of my stuff.

Reissue '72 Telecaster, Gordon Smith Classic T Thinline,Modified (with home painted scratchplate) Squier Classic Vibe 50s Tele, Fender American Deluxe Ash Telecaster, Martin Mahogany D-15.

All of that through an AC15.

One of the nicest set of telecasters I've seen. Love them all.

  3. The new Atmosphere album is... interesting. I don't quite know what to make of it yet. Dark, minimalistic beats with more guitar than every, and the lyrics? Slug's stories are grimmer than they've ever been. There are a few great songs on it that struck me straight away, but I need to get myself into the right mindset for this record again so that I can give it a proper chance.

I'm really enjoying the Atmosphere album. I think Slug really suits the minimalistic beats with just a guitar/piano and a drum beat - like on guarantees/alwayscoming back home to you/the living legends song 'nothing less. His stories do enough for me to keep it interesting.

I really like the sing along choruses he kinda mumbles through. This is only the first listen, but I reckon it's a grower.

EDIT: Crack Pipes by Sage Francis is a belter.

  4. As per the title. Used and gigged, but in very good nick. Has an Evans Genera (sp?) coated batter head (original PDP skin on underside). Difficult to give too much more info due to being discontinued, but it's very resonant with a deep sound, could easily pass as a main snare. I'll also throw in a case for it, because I'm nice like that.

Looking for around 70 quid. PM/reply etc, I live out of town but could easily arrange pick up/RSVP, etc.

    Cheers for looking....

Wish i had cash because I really fancy using a small snare for a main snare for some reason. Saying that, I got Dallas to tune the Mr. Death Ludwig bad boy you sold to me. Sounds fucking great - like a bolt of lightning or summat.

I just bought one of these Night Train heads and a 1970's 2x12 to run it through, excited as it's the first "serious" amp I've owned. Sounds really nice :)

That's lush, Claire! The cab does look sensational.

  6. Eugh. It's a real shame that Union Street has turned into any other high street. Maybe something to be said for reduced rental/rates for local businesses a la BMs? But then, why would they when The likes of Hugo Boss and G Star Raw can and probably would pay double whatever it is just now.

It'll be interesting to see if the independent other retail outlet(s) last up that end. Signature is the only one i can think of, but no doubt it will go soon.

It's a real shame to lose one of the two main music shops in a city with too little music shops. It'll be interesting to see if it remains a music shop - Guitar Guitar have branches in G'town, Edinburgh and Newcastle i think. Admittedly not local, but a music shop nonetheless and a good one. Probably mean the end of RnB though...

  7. I'll admit. I started off a cynic but by the end was sobbing into a tissue telling my dad how beautiful Kate looked in that gorgeous dress. Totally channelling Grace Kelly. Lovely lace detail.

    Also, her sister, totally would.

  8. Hey man, make sure Reaper is using the right ASIO driver. Go to: options > preferences > then 'device' under the audio headline.

The ASIO driver selected should be the one for your audio interface, not ASIO DirectX Full Duplex or anything like that.

If it's the correct one, then you might need to adjust your audio interface's buffer/latency settings. Generally, you use lower values for tracking and higher ones for mixing. If you have a project loaded up with loads of VSTs, it'll stutter and drop out if the buffer settings are too low.

It was defs on the right ASIO driver because I also was using the interface for monitoring and tracking.

There doesn't seem to be any way of configuring any of the setting on the interface, but i think there is a way of changing the buffer settings for something. I wish I knew what i was talking about. Where's the best place to go to read stuff so I can understand things?

I tried it again last night and it was a lot better. The occassional pop which would spike the track I was recording on.

  9. Hi

I'm currently fiddling about with home recording and stuff. I'm running a Zoom R16 as an interface to Reaper. It all worked perfectly in the beginning, but then I started work on a track with heaps of audio tracks and effects. When I was working on these tracks I thought the CPU load of all the effects and stuff were causing the DAW to make these horrible glitchy noises.

Recently when I work on something, even if it's just one track with no effects it makes these noises which kinda sound like a nasty ring modulator. It effects all audio from the DAW - playback and monitoring. The version of Reaper I'm running is the free version which expired ages ago. Could that be the reason?

    Any help is much appreciated.

    Thanks.

  10. The Min were great as usual, despite all the gear trouble. :( New songs are sounding doss and Zipp's vocals were on it.

Pensioner were absolutely on fire and have come on leaps and bounds since the first EP - got their sound absolutely nailed. Got to hear the first 4 tracks off the album on the way home and they sound great. Lovely packaging too.

Only downer is the Sunday night-like turnout, which seems to happen more and more regularly these days. Hopefully Pensioner can make it up for a well attended gig sometime in/after summer.

  11. Duke were spot on. Good set length and enough variation to keep things pretty interesting. I got told about a single or something out soon which I'll probably look into.

JoFo were awesome. I'm a big fan of the first album so sad there wasn't more off that, but looking back I think there were 4 off the first 4 off the second and 4 or so newer. Can't really complain. They look totally over-toured and unhealthy though - I probably said it a million times on the night but Alexei looked like a skinny guy with a pillow under his shirt and Kelly was looking, well.... amazing, but also a lot slighter than I've noticed in other photos/videos/general pervation. It's totally none of my business, but I just hope it's just "one of those things" rather than an over indulgence in sex, drugs and rock and roll.

  12. I just bought one of these

    images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSi2lCjWYScsmEsWQMmTLnStBFDtAo8KdASeeqhvqmWrWI1OGZDqg&t=1

Its a late 70's Peavey T-40. It looks like a cross between a Fender Precision and a Gibson Ripper, which are my two favourite basses so thats probably why I like it. It needs a good set up and some new strings, but apart from that I'm pretty pleased with it.

That looks like it could kill a man. Awesome.

  13. Hopefully someone will get more use out of this.

Also decided to lower the price of the cab to 600.

Has the band packed it in like?

Good price for the cab. I've always thought the 610s sounded far better than the 810s too - more definition and more rounded.
