  1. I think Shanahan is going to go back to Denver and ride that glorious steed back to the Superbowl with Peyton to retire with a ring.

    Calling it.

    This will probably not happen.

At least the Superbowl part wont.

  2. Going for a pass on a third and change seems much more in character with Harbaugh than Roman doesn't it?

It's completely understandable that he's taking flack for last season and the end of the season before but I think a lot more blame has to land @ Harbaugh's feet - Roman is a good OC and he's probably a good fit for Rex.

I don't think it'll be a great fit with Rex unless they get a very good QB coach.  Neither of those two has had any success developing QBs and Buffalo aren't blessed with any.  You are right that Harbaugh did get involved with the offense but in most games it was Roman calling the plays so he can't have a pass on that.

Roman is pretty much a genius with running plays however with the issues on our OLine last season he couldn't use that knowledge to cover over his glaring problems in the passing game.

At least at Buffalo he will have full control of his play calls so we'll quickly be able to see how much of our failings were his fault.

  3. Only time Harbaugh made calls was when he'd entirely take over the offense in a game.  He didn't meddle here and there from what I've read.

It's Harbaugh's fault overall though, there's no way Roman should have been kept on for this season.  Looks like he's learned from his mistake as two weeks ago Roman was nailed on to go with Jim to Michigan and Jim decided he didn't want him.

  4. 2 seasons in fairness.  Our offense has spluttered for two years and he can't exactly complain about a lack of weapons.

Got a run game that always got yards, a good pair of TE's (Vernon played like shit this year in fairness), Boldin, Crabtree and Stevie Johnson at WR.  Kaep runs like a fucking gazelle but Roman wanted him to play as a total pocket passer.

The overall scheme isn't the main issue with Roman though, it's baffling decisions.  3rd and short time and time again he goes for a pass when the run game in that game would be averaging about 4-5 yards a carry.  You've got Gore who's been a tremendous 3rd down back his whole career or if you don't fancy that you've got Carlos Hyde who absolutely thumps the line on inside runs.

He wasn't the problem this season but he has been a problem for the last two.  He only got talked about for HC gigs because of our Superbowl run year when Kaep was new and no one knew what he could do (hiya Green Bay).  Since then he only got mentioned because of reputation, not results.

  5. Rex did pretty well his first two seasons, I think the Jets went wrong sticking with him for so long (and the Sanchize).

Once they stopped being able to run the ball effectively and tried to rely on Sanchez (then Geno) they had no hope.  Pretty poor personnel moves and drafts didn't help either.

They obviously have to get in somewhat of an offensive guru as OC but thats the same for your DC if you get an offense minded HC.

  6. I think Luck is better than Flacco now and has more upside. I think your views on Flacco are the views of a fan.

I'd take Luck and Wilson over Flacco. And id take Rogers over anyone in the league. No matter of age.

I'd also take regular season Ryan over season Flacco as well. Not playoff Ryan. Although he has never had a defence to speak of. The Falcons seem awful at drafting defence.

  7. Forsett? Was signed as cover for Rice and Pierce - he's been a pleasant surprise. Doubled his career yards in one season.

I think I confused everything with that wrong word I meant the game last week.

You beat Pitt without Bell, who'd rushed for 1350 this season.

I need to see Flacco really win games (like where he carries the team is what I was trying to say in my last post).

Beat the Pats in Foxbrough and  he's on his way to doing that.

I just can't help but feel he's always just done his job behind good defences.

  8. Bronco's/Colt's I reckon will be the best match up of this weekend.

Still don't think I'm on the Flacco hype train.  Every time I've seen him do well in the playoffs it's been largely off the back of a great defence...

This years one isn't quite as good so if he beats this Pats team then i'll be much more sold on him.  Remember last year they were beating on Steelers without the running back who's been a total star this season.  Probably only behind Demarco Murray in terms of RBs this season.

  9. Headline of the wild cards.  Refs.

That call in the Dallas game looked horrible, especially with the pick up...

I thought the WR face masked the defender though...

  10. The calls kinda evened out in the end no? Zona's practice squad were lol bad. They were never gonna win that.

There were bad calls but those ones lead to the point swing.  If they weren't down 13 don't think the Arizona defence would have to play so risky like they did.  They knew they had to carry that team.  Their special teams was horrible as well.

Still think they would have lost but those calls really cost them, where as the ones on the Panthers were like bad holding calls when they are up by like two plus scores.

  11. Two horrible calls against Arizona just cost them and have Carolina a 13 point lead.

Obvious PI on Carolina for the Cards doesn't get called. Then on the goal line a horrible PI call for Carolina does get called.

Well they do call it home field advantage.

  12. Harbaugh off to Michigan.  49 wins in his time with us.  Apt and best in decades.

Hope we don't have to totally restart we should be a fairly attractive prospect to top coaches.  2 all pro MLB coming back next season with 2 impressive rookie LBs as well (Lynch and Borland), Aldon Smith with a full season, Justin Smith has at least one more good season in him.  Kaep still has bags of potential but the coach calling the plays really needs to take advantage of his legs and not try to make him a pocket passer.  We have to re sign Frank Gore as well.
