  5. Meh. Just realised I can't go to this, as Donphobia are playing at The Moorings on the 20th and I'll be getting the bus up to Aberdeen on the 19th. Will hopefully see you dotting about at college though
  6. What about those of us unfortunate enough to live down there? Will we get free entry too?
  7. It doesn't look like Donphobia will be playing tonight as the drummer's daughter has been admitted to hospital. But a stunning replacement will hopefully be confirmed within the next couple of hours
  8. If that's what you're worried about, the diner area is totally soundproofed
  9. RADIO LUCIFER RADIO LUCIFER are a band from Aberdeen, Scotland that make hardcore, heavy rock n'roll their raison detre. With clutch of tunes set to stun, RADIO LUCIFER are set to make a big impression with a full on nuclear assault that tips it's targeting systems to The Wildhearts, Motley Crue, Devin Townsend, Black Flag, The Backyard Babies and Sick of It All. The bands history is an illustrious and decadent one - formed after the untimely split of Psycho A Go-Go (Changes One records), front man Jonny decided that the kids needed the exciting, decadent, sleazy kicks of his former group married with the intensity and righteous anger of old-skool hardcore with a peppering of metal. With this in mind he called his brother JIMMY LUCIFER, already an alumnus of a number of hardcore/metal bands, including the mighty We Become Less (Lockjaw Records). Jimmy of course agreed in a second to take on the mantle of guitar player, allowing him to exorcise his love of Motley Crue and Black Flag simultaneously! Other members were quickly auditioned, until the line-up finally settled upon the rock ninjas youre reading about now: ROBB, the bass-man from hell with a throbbing low-end cacophony at his finger-tips and the chiseled charm of a Hollywood movie star; OGGY, formerly of local punk legends KILLSWITCH, a virtual atom bomb behind the kit, and the enigmatic SAINT PETER on guitar; the baby-faced six-string samurai with the hottest licks. Radio Lucifers ascension has been a quick one, already the band have played a number of shows around Scotland with Canadian indie supreme Neil Leyton, a UK, support slots with Viking Skull and The Damned, a tour in September 2004. More trips around the UK are in the works to take Radio Lucifers maniacal message to world at large, a message that appeals to fans of Cheap Trick and Slipknot alike. DONPHOBIA Combining epic soaring vocals, rapturous water-tight riffs, mesmerising whiplash drumming, technically adapt basslines combining stomp and subtlety, interwoven with the spellbinding on-stage spectacle of an Alice Cooper show, Donphobias genre-spanning, conception-shattering anthems are more than enough to stun even the most vehement of critics. Their unique sound veers between the lobotomised cacophony of early metal masters such as Iron Maiden, the hulking riffs of AC/DC, the bludgeoning power metal assault of Judas Priest; as well as incorporating fresh new takes on the rap metal element and adding phantasmagorical songwriting over this blistering, enigmatic stew. Its no wonder that the bands veritable phalanx of dedicated fans, or Shadow Warriors worship the ground-breaking ground they walk on. And as if the imposing triumvirate of Woody (drums), Downie (guitar) and Pete (bass) wasnt enough, Donphobias frontman and occasional maraca wielder Mark Peel guarantees a sense of showmanship and fun that is so lacking in many of todays artists. Hailing from the murky depths of Greenock, Glasgow they are poised and ready to launch their assault on an unsuspecting legion of soon to be Shadow Warriors. And as for DEADLOSS, they'll be having the final of their bass off, or BASS IDOL, so if you miss that, you're missing out on a little bit of history!
