  1. Bump! Decided to lower the price to 900 o.n.o. Saving over 750 on RRP. I can't really afford to lower it much more. This is a sweet guitar, very few people have them.
  2. Sweet cheers guys, i'll give you a shout tomorrow!
  3. Okay time for a bump! Still haven't sold this! Come on shredheads where are you!

Depends which sort of sound you are looking for really. The American vintage tone of marshalls and grainy distortion just doesn't really do it for me. This distortion sounds more upfront and fluid. It's a British amp, and that's exactly how it sounds I guess.
  5. BUMP Great guitar, not a lot who are lucky enough to have one! Especially for this price
  6. Hi! I'm looking to sell an immaculate Caparison Horus Yellow Sand guitar. For anyone not familiar with Caparison guitars yet, they are extremely comfortable modern guitars used by artists such as the Amott brothers (Arch Enemy), Adam Dutkiewicz (Killswitch Engage), Mattias IA Eklundh (Freak Kitchen), James Murphey (Obituary, Testament...) and Andy Latimer (Camel). I bought this a couple of years ago and I'm a little gutted I'm having to sell it because of student loans and general financial issues. It's in the same mint condition I bought it in, and has always been kept in the manufacturers hard case. I'm asking for 950 o.n.o (saving over 700 on new price) This link will tell you about specs, and the current price they are going for new: CAPARISON HORUS THUNDER CLOUD/GO - 1,675.00 : Cranes of Cardiff - guitars, drums, piano, woodwind, brass, strings This guitar is also pretty awesome because it has 27 frets. People may ask you why you need it. But I say just because. I have used Ibanez and Jackson guitars previously, and they just don't match up to the comfort and ease of play of these guitars. Pictures: Caparison Horus pictures by stuartgibson - Photobucket Can be seen in Aberdeen or Fraserburgh. I'm happy to deliver to your door however. Further details reply here or email me on stuartmiccagibson@hotmail.com Stuart

Aye it's a great amp, really didn't want to sell it but will probably downgrade to something like a 50watt at most. 100w valve amps deserve to be played loudly!

    Laney GH-100L

Hello! I'm selling a mint Laney GH-100L amp, a legendary amp used by artists such as Paul Gilbert, Mattias IA Eklundh (Freak Kitchen), Mikael Akerfeldt (Opeth) and even Tony Iommi's (Black Sabbath) signature amp is modelled on it . The amp has a beautiful natural distortion, and a brilliant clarity for soloing. I regret that I'm having to sell it. It's too big an amp for me (much to my despair), and I've never had it out of my bedroom. If you want a great tone for rock, metal and solos look no further. The amp, cabinet (GS-412I) plus the footswitch (FS-2) would cost 1022 to buy new on GAK. I'm asking for only 600 o.n.o for the lot. Here are the pictures: Laney GH-100L pictures by stuartgibson - Photobucket Specs: Laney Amplification | Products | gh100l Also see the many customer reviews: Laney GH100L: Harmony Central User Reviews If you need any more info reply here or email me on stuartmiccagibson@hotmail.com. 10. Yeah but it's still soul...pretty much. I'm not really into genres... it's all music man! Also possibly doing Average White Band, Herbie Hancock, Rolls Royce... that kind of thing. We may also need keys... Stu X
  11. Hey, I'm Stuart. Well we already have a bassist, alto saxophonist, guitarist and singer and all we need is a drummer for the time being. We're looking to do soul/funk in the realm of Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind & Fire, Bee Gees, Bill Withers, and what the hell good ol' Michael Jackson- that sort of thing. Thinking about funking up some old and new tunes you wouldn't normally associate with it too. We're also all very much into jazz, metal, prog, electronic and classical music so are open to any influenced person... I myself think this kind of band is missing from the area. I think it would be popular for parties, weddings and nights out as pretty much anyone can dance to it (I defy you not to!) As long as you can groove, you PM me. Thanks! Stuart
  12. Hi, I got in contact with you guys once before. I am a guitarist but also play bass, and dig the stuff you are doing. The only problem is that I'm a medical student and also have a part time job so time is not my best friend. How often do you guys rehearse? And Where? Stu
  13. I'm a guitarist, but I can do bass also. I'd be interested in a bit of fusion. My influences run pretty wide- metal (Opeth, Pantera, Sepultura), Jazz fusion/indo jazz fusion (Miles Davis, Coltrane, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Shakti, Jonas Hellborg Trio), prog (Yes, King Crimson, Camel, Pink Floyd, Procupine Tree), electronic (Eno, Autechre, Tangerine Dream), Impressionist (Debussy, Ravel). Would be interested in setting up some sort of trio or quartet, and would be willing to compose. All i'm saying is, we need some sort of fusion band in this area...

    Jazz Fusion

Yo, I'm Stuart- startin UNI next year at Aberdeen. Wondering whether anyone would be up for starting a jazz fusion band based loosely in the style of the Mahavishnu Orchestra, or Miles Davis "electric" phase. I'm a guitarist and I'm looking for experimental musicians. Strange timings, unconvential scales, etc. I'm looking for: A drummer A bassist A violinist A saxophonist A keyboard player Possibly tuned percussion Although I'm open to pretty much any other instrument suggestions. As I say, I want ambitious people so if you want to join the sheep then don't bother. Stu
  15. I'm a guitarist and bassist. I have my own bass and would be willing to play. I love metal, prog rock and all round experimental stuff. I'm from Frasebrugrh but would be willing to go to Aberdeen to rehearse as long as we arranged a suitable time. Dunno if you are interested but heres the page: http://www.aberdeen-music.com/forums/showthread.php?p=564032#post564032 Cheers
  16. Hey, Im Stuart, 17 from Fraserburgh. I know theres no market for progressive metal here, but i'd be willing to go to Captain Tom's to rehearse and gig in Aberdeen or whatever. My influences include Opeth, Pantera, Procupine Tree, Frank Zappa, Joe Satriani, and thrash metal- and jazz... I am a pretty good lead guitarist (i can play satriani), but I also have a bass and would be willing to sacrfice my guitar skills for this. LEave me message or write on this thread if you're interested. I need a guitarist or bassist (ideally), singer, drummer and possibly keyboard player. Cheers.
  17. Cheers you guys. I like the look of the Ibanez SR 900. But im going in to try some basses tomorrow anyway.
  18. Hello, I'm a guitarist who is turning into a bassist because I can't be bothere looking anymore. I'm just wondering, I was a frequent Ibanez guitar user but what are the best bass guitars? I hear ESP and Fender make good ones... Thanks, Stuart
  19. Hiya I'm a guitarist from Fraserbugh (could be a problem). I'm also interested in setting up something original. I'm thinking of Opeth-type hemiolas and, as you say strange time signatures, along with new guitar sounds too. I'd really like to do something experimental. I'm only 16 but I am very creative.
  20. Hello, Im looking for a bassist and a vocalist. We'll start off with Judas Priest, Pantera, Megadeth, etc covers then probably branch off to something a little more experimental. Interested? Send me a message!
  21. Thing is though, I can't remember the last time I saw a proper metal band play. We are constantly bombarded with people playing classic rock and crowd pleasers for the sake of selling out.
