Copy Haho play a free lunchtime gig at the Lemon Tree this Thursday the 27th of October.
Maeve O'Boyle also playing. Doors noon.
Can food be ordered and eaten while watching?
-
Maybe I'll get a maid.
"...find a place near by for her to stay. Just someone to keep my house clean, cook my meals and go-away..."
I won't need to tell you what that's from. Possibly one of the most trivial themes for a song ever. It's not even true
-
Drive by argument are on the way to big big things
They damn well better be, or you may as well give up on the world now. Thee Comrades also packed more potential hits into a set than I thought possible. But no 1 song stood out, so that might be a problem
Anyway, this gig restored my faith in...well, life
-
There was one song sung when we beat Rangers recently, that I hadn't heard before, but I dad assured me it was an old favourite, but he couldnt tell me the words. It sounded like the hook-line was "No-oh, no-oh". Any ideas?
-
Are the US Government actually involved in this at all?
I wondered why he wasn't handed over to whatever the court at The Hague is, since it wasn't Iraqis who caught him. Probably because the U.S recognises that court no more than he recognises the Iraqi one

NME is really annoying me constantly wetting their pants over them... They're a pretty good band' date=' but people need to calm down a bit.[/quote']
NME wets their pants over no-one. They may identify the Artic Monkeys as what the world needs now, but they speak about any band with their tongue-in-cheek, which is what bands deserve
-
I love that line - especially the use of "the" in front of status quo.
That and the "oh yeah" makes it

The Chameleons - Strange Times
Before I realised the folly of listening to albums at all, let alone ones released twenty years ago, that was on constant rotation on the popTart soundsystem
-
My answer is always the same: "She wears denim wherever she goes, says she's going to get some records by the Status Quo, oh yeah", first line from The Concept by Teenage Fanclub
It's not because it's funny, but because it sums up the petty concerns of pop tarts lile you and me
-
Be it Punk' date=' Folk, Electronic, Metal, Blues, emo, Jazz, Ambient, Grindcore, Pop blah blah.
[/quote']
Grrr, "pop" isnt a genre like those others you mention. Music is classical or it is popular, and that is it. All those others you mention are pop, because they are low art, rather than high art, for which only classical music qualifies
-
Nothing cheers my heart quite like a worthy no.1. I thought "Do You Want To" would provide one, but inexplicably it only hit no.4. I dont know where Rachel Stevens hit, but I know it failed also. Both Sugababes or Artic Monkeys have worthy singles, so either way I'm pleased, but the fact the latter are genuine scallies makes me root for them
-
I normally hate the Union, but this night could provide a post-Hogshead-pub-quiz venue. Good stuff
-
At least one member of your band belong to Robert Gordon Uni.
D'oh. The Lizard King will have to be roped in on salt-shakers
-
I'm gagging for some inter-forum soccerball again. Strikers is a bastard to get to, and playing at Seaton Park would be a lot less formal, but I don't really mind. Either way, Yousef and me will show we think with one brain when it comes to football
-
Lance has a nose like a brass doorknob. "Down-to-earth looks" - while funny- doesn't even cover it. Susan throwing her rubbish in the bin and dusting her hands while Izzy looked on was a piece of symbolism worthy of Samuel Beckett
I still feel like I've had 20 minutes of my life stolen by an idiot. Every time
-
They do exist. I used to have one' date=' but I lost it in the Palace one drunken night circa '97. Maybe the Divinity office will know where you can find one.[/quote']
You mean you had a Divinity one? If so, you'll have catapulted yourself back into the file marked "Respect". I have a claim for both the Arts and Divinity ones, but I plumped for the former today (from where rainbow princess said) because it was mostly purple, so to even consider anything else would be indecent
-
I've been in that place, but I didn't see any hoodies on sale. What I'm after are the faculty scarfs my dad assures me exists. He says there is a different colour of scarf for each faculty. I want to look uber-hip in a Divinity scarf (unless they only exist in the head of Pa Tart)
-
Where is it nowadays? Y'know, the place where you can buy hoodies n' junk (not that I want to buy a hoodie, you understand)
-
Yeah, those bands are on Lamacq live now. But the program on Channel 5 about hairy people is distracting me
-
1. Interpol - Take You On a Cruise
2. British Sea Power - Blackout
3. Idlewild - I Am What I Am Not
4. Editors - Lights
5. Arcade Fire - No Cars Go (I can see my entries getting monotonous due to the lack of minidiscs I have)
"...Now you have drunk' date=' all your beer, go drown your empty soul..."[/b']
None of mine today
1, The Great Escape - We Are Scientists
2, A19 - Maximo Park
3, Destroy Everything You Touch - Ladytron
4, Your Diary - Franz Ferdinand
5, Two More Years - Bloc Party
CD singles, to a man. It's fair to say I'm cooler than fuck
-
i was made for lovin you...
firehouse...
black diamond...
cold gin...
Truly, they will echo through the ages
-
Can anyone name a Kiss song?
-
What a blow...could this be the start of the Dave backlash?
Well, I'm giving it a miss tonite, but that's just a because a night of purely homo-erotic dancing would depress me too much right now

Sorry, got over-excited. Not that Copy_Haho excite me, nor indeed Maeve O'Boyle, but a hot meal...man, that'd be sweet
