  1. Is it still necessary to make requests for a Saturday night? Dave seems to be making a good job without much prompting of late, but it may take a little more than a thimble of sherry to pass these particular bills:

    Consolation Prize - Orange Juice

    The Concept - Teenage Fanclub

Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before - The Smiths

(a fey indie triple wammy to send a clear message to any smelly longhairs who may have dragged their knuckles over the threshold)

    Party Fears Two - Associates

Fascist Groove Thing - Heaven 17

    Bedsitter - Soft Cell

    (custom made for the dancefloor)

Hanging on the Telephone - Blondie

    Suffragette City - David Bowie

    The Fly - U2

    (the populist choice)

Follow the Leaders - Killing Joke

    Rememberance Day - B-movie

(obscure, but they couldn't be more perfect for the dancefloor, and they can be found on John Peel's Festive Fifty 1981)

Never Understand - Jesus and the Mary Chain

Let's Not Belong Together - Paul Westerberg

    (em, miscellaneous)

    Teen Angst - M83

First of the Gang to Die - Morrissey

Born On A Train - The Magnetic Fields

Morning Night and Day - New Order

(some newish ones for the kids)

Please remember, I have yet to do anything to cause the withdrawal of my requesting rights (other than attempting to disable the Power Flower), and it was me who originally asked for Western Battle, and I didn't punctuate the request with "ya cuuuuuunts" :D

  2. I must shop the self-styled "King of Indie" Jimmy Jazz here for his recent effort: "A smile lights up on her stupid face, and well it should, I've lost my faith in womanhood", or something like that.

To be fair, it was genuine, and you're all swine if you take the mic
