  1. I hope Rangers gat drawn against Man United and Real Madrid. Scholes going through the back of Lafferty would be a momentus sight.

I can decide whether this is the funniest thing, or the thought of your hero, Chicken Legs Evra, having a new arsehole ripped for him by Vladi Weiss.

  2. That would've been me probably, if you are talking about the last friday night game...

Nah, this was some knob who was playing in A-Mo's regular Tuesday game where the regular's all dinghied it and folk like me and Murr had to step into the breach...

Invite that bald guy along again, from that time I wasn't there. Give him to a shot of Vitamin C. Can't elbow Nev in the face if I've shattered your knees and shat in your kitbag.

To be fair to the boy, I don't think he meant to elbow me in the face. It'd have been my chest if I was normal sized. He was still and absolute cockrocket though...

  3. There's a sign on the bus stop outside my work with details of the dates Union Street is closed for the annual Santa parade and the switching on of the Union Street Christmas lights. The date? 15th November. Do we really need to have the Christmas lights on in fucking November?

OI! Don't rain on my parade! (but do come and see me drive my wee motor down Union St as part of the Xmas lights parade...)

  4. Weiss signed on loan today. I know nothing about him except he's come from Manchester City and he was decent at the World Cup. I'm excited by this regardless.

He's a good player. Needs a wee bit of fine tuning, deciding when to run with the ball and when to release it, but he's an immense talent. Should rip the SPL apart.

Speaking of ripping things apart, Balotelli ripped Timisoara to shreds when he came on tonight. Great start for him, and hopefully a sign of things to come. Early days though...

  5. Laptop not charging, despite the LED on the powerpack still being lit, and the Battery Health Status telling me that the battery is fine. I'd be less hacked off if the charger wasn't powering up at all, since I could just go and buy a new one. I'm worried it's the actual power socket on the laptop, which I imagine is irreplacable.

Anywhere in town that could diagnose it? I took an old laptop to both of those shops on George St, and said I'd have to wait about 2 weeks for them to even look at it.

I've been having a similar issue, the power would intermittently cut out only to come back seconds later. Bought a new power pack, which spent last night not working, then bizarrely started working without issue.

I too am worried about it being the internal connection being goosed, but I'm looking for an excuse to get a new laptop anyway. Oh well.

  6. Its stupid that Craig Bellamy is no longer "welcome" or "allowed" within Manchester Citys training facilities. What a circus.

Incidentally, this. Yes, this. Bobby Manc has no right treating a hero like Bellers so shabbily. P45 please.

How ace did Lombardo look on the telly last night? He should be our manager.

  7. Stuff

Just to point out, the transfer fee doesn't apply to the player but to their playing registration, so in theory Ben Arfa could say to Marseille "screw you guys, I'm off to join Newcastle", walk out and sign a contract at Newcastle, but it wouldn't do any good as Marseille would still hold his playing registration so Newcastle couldn't actually use him.

Realistically, there's laws within the game which prevent clubs offering contracts to other club's players, but I'd imagine the registration thing (as well as some form of common sense - ie not committing to a contract for a player you can't use) has a bearing on how some of the employment law issues can be avoided.
